Absolutely no question on this one.  I'm a guy who likes "stock", but I don't believe I'd change a thing on that one.  I bought my 77 750F for $455.00, then turned around and put close to 4,000 into the resto.

As mentioned already ... tank the tank off and look at the tunnel most often they remain the original color.

Nice score

The fenders look stock to me.  They have just been painted and the front has had the U brackets removed and the holes filled.  I also think it would cost you quite a bit to turn it back into a stock bike.  You have the unicorn tree, gauges, and chain guard but you are missing the exhaust and you would need to get the fenders re-chromed, a new wiring harness probably and the turn signals/mounts, correct grab bar.  It adds up fast.  Nice bike though and a good price too.  In this instance the fact that it is a K1 doesn't make it anymore valuable than a K2-K6 in my opinion because it is not stock.

Thanks for all the information.  I have purchased the bike and I may slowly restore it or just ride it and enjoy it.  If I restore it, I will keep you posted on the progress.

Stev-O,

Thanks -- I am glad to be a member of the club.  And you were correct, this bike was in the Midwest (Cincinnati).
