Bronze Swingarm Bushing Install on CB400F
« on: July 17, 2006, 09:37:49 AM »
Hello all,
Does anyone have experience with this install? FedEx just dropped off a box with lots of goodies for me and those are one of the items. I plan on getting them installed this weekend as well as hopefully getting the motor in the frame and am looking for some feedback on this. I have heard that those bushings are very soft and easy to crush if installed incorrectly.
Thanks!

I used some old Swing arm caps over the end of them and then plenty of grease on them when if fitted them on my 400 and then just taped them in with a hammer and no visible damage.
I’ve also always run a Cibie H4 and never had a problem

Freeze the bushing for a couple hours in the freezer. You might also locally heat up the swingarm to make it easier, but freezing is probably enough to get it to fit nicely.
