« on: January 20, 2013, 10:14:27 am »
Hi guys,

I recently bought a stinker '72 with an Andrews A grind cam and an unknown set of pistons with 811 stamped into the top,any ideas who made them?

Thanks

Hi Mick,

Is there anything stamped in the underside below the pin boss?

Hi Brent,

Looks like a small oval with two figures , I can't make them out ,one has an oil hole drilled through it.

4016 stamped on the other side.

I first thought they were maybe JE as the circlips are different to the Wisecos in my Z1.

Cheers

Mick

Yes. No top rings for those. There is a solution but it sucks and I'll never do it again.

Seking of rings, anyone ever thinned them on a surface grinder? I know some types you may not want to do it, like plated ones.

The deal is to cut the top groove wider, use a spacer and install a thinner top ring. I've done it and it absolutely, positively, totally sucks.
