Heh everyone.....my first post here, but I've been reading the forum for the past 6 months and it's been an incredible help with my 1972 CB750 restoration, so thanks for all the great information that everyone has posted here!!
I've been searching for a fork brace for my bike, but have come to realize that they are essentially impossible to find, due to the style of my forks on my 1972 CB750. I came across a post on here about 'TKAT' and him making some braces that fit my style of fork. I have emailed him to see about getting one off of him, but it turns out that they're a real pain to make and as a result he didn't produce many of them.
To make a long story short, he's willing to make some for us, but needs a minimum of 10 people interested (the more, the better, but 10 would be the minimum), so I thought I would post a topic on here to see what kind of interest there is out there?
Below is the email from TKAT, which basically should answer any questions that anyone has (ie-price, amount of work, how they fit......etc);
OK, I made a Beta run of CB 750 Ks end of last yr. There wasn't much interest in 'em & they were a real PITA.
Due to the short sliders I've had to design in separate risers. A real time taker. 5 extra set-ups per part plus the final hand fitt'n.
Then we have the packag'n. The USPS doesn't have the free Priority Boxes that will suit them.
So it's off to the packaging store for padding, boxes, &c.
All in all a real [Grmblegrmbl]
Final pricing: Production parts: $165/set delivered domestically, Canuks & International a bit more to cover the extra shippi'n cost.
But 1st, there's gotta be more interest - say at least 10 sets.
I'll keep a list of inquiries & when there's enuf interest I'll revisit the proj.
As for the fender, the F/B will clear the stock fender - which MAY hafta be squeezed a little.
So, if anyone is interested, please let me know (either by a PM, or just post a reply below). With any luck, there will be a bunch of people looking for one of these and we can get the order in right away and in our hands in plenty of time for the start of riding season!
Thanks.........Barry.
