Scrambler Exhausts?

76 CB550, building it to echo the dirt track bikes of the same era. Wondering if anyone on here has done a CL–style exhaust setup.

I'm thinking a 2—1 on either side plus some heat shields would look killer  8)

Most everyone learned that the high pipes caused burned pants, burned legs and a real!@##! to work on the carbs, or air filters and toolkit without burning your hands.

The high scrambler pipes ended very quick. (Honda "scrambler",Triumph "scrambler etc.,.)

But now all the kids want the pipes up high and sticking out the a$$ end.
More hands, legs, and butts will be getting burned.

The Honda CB350 series the road pipes rather than the scrambler pipes had 3 more HP.

Also if you fell down in the dirt with the scrambler pipes the bike could be laying on you with the pipes burning you until the bike was off of you. Many riders have a permanent reminder to show you.

separates the men from the boys.

BTW, high pipes on each side is exactly why I bought the little 1970 Suzuki 2 smoker 250 Hustler. Just looked so damned cool with those high pipes.

Real men dont worry about stuff like that.. We get burned now and then but WE LIKE IT ......

Besides its nice to have pipes no one else has.. And great ground clearance..
