Early or late?

Early. That stuff is rare and it came with the bike.

Late. The bike isn't stock anyway.

POLL: Early or late fork ears?
« on: January 23, 2013, 10:40:52 AM »
I have an early '71 CB500. It isn't stock at all.... Japan market silver paint, Super Sport stripe, CB550 engine, CB400F bars, 400F pegs, etc.

It does have some of the early build features such as: small tail light, seat latch, small reflectors on the headlight ears, etc. I have some more changes in mind. One of them is smaller signals.

Should I keep the stock, early '71 ears and put the signals in the headlight bucket? Chrome is OK, better than in the pics.

Or should I swap out these better condition 550 ears and mount the signals lower?

I'll be going in there soon anyway to replace a torn gaitor, probably do the fork oil, etc. Opinions?

I like the smaller reflectors, and the cleaner look of the earlier ears...that's my opinion.
