I have been using this site as a resource since I purchased a '77 cb550f last summer for $675 with 15k miles on the clock (Will post pics when I hit 5 posts). Wasn't able to get it on the road because of lack of resources and time because of work/school (Civil Engineering at the UofA, just finished in December). Eventually discovered the frame was bent but was able to get a straight '73K for $100 with forks and swing arm. The PO did tell me that his friend who bought it new crashed into a car turning left in front of him which would explain a few other bent items that will be replaced. I got it running pretty easily after a quick carb clean but since it didn't have a muffler and the air box was removed the stock jetting didn't allow it to run right. I am currently rebuilding the carbs and going through the electrical so it will hopefully be ready to pass inspection this spring. My current plan is to get it running and on the road then cut the fat with smaller signals, lights, fenders, and a fastback style seat.
