New guy and new bike
« on: February 06, 2013, 06:22:20 AM »
Hey folks, just thought I'd throw out and intro of myself and my newly acquired bike.

I picked up this 1977 CB550f not to long ago as I have always wanted one of the CB's. I finally found one with a title and well in my price range. At first I want to upgrade the front forks and make a rad cafe' but the more I look at the bike and its condition I am deciding to keep it as close to original as I can. I want take this bike on some trips and having a cafe' style bike wouldn't be the best for that. I have a supermoto for bouncing around town.

about a year ago I picked up a '82 CM250c and turned that into custom project. all said and done but the title issue was a pain! It had one but its a long story. So I sold it and lost my time a money on it. I'll attach a pic of that.

I look forward to gaining a wealth of knowledge from this site and building up another bike!

Heres my new ride.

I agree. I'll be keeping it as original as I can.

Right now I'm having a heck of a time finding rear signals an all the mounting hardware. I'll probably pick up a remanu side cover as I will be getting the tank painted anyways. (as close to the candy sword blue as I can)

Thank you, I found it on Craigslist in NY. It didn't run and I bought it without seeing it. I didn't have time pick it up myself and at the price it was listed for I knew it wasn't going to last long. So I called up a good friend of mine and told him that he needed to go pick up as soon as he got out of work. Him and another good friend drove an hour and got it.

That's what good friends are for!
