Snapped a few pics today for the hell of it. Thought I would share them with everyone. I'm going to start on the carb rebuild Tuesday or Wednesday. And take the tires and rims to be mounted and have them checked to make sure they are both trued.

So I tore the carbs apart and wow... they were pretty damn filthy! Ran into a little problem though as I was rebuilding my #4...

I was kicking myself in the ass when I heard that thing pop. I only had the damn thing finger tight and didn't even get a quarter of a turn on it with a wrench. It wasn't even tight... luckily I found one within minutes of looking on ebay for a decent price.

Can somebody tell me why the walls are uneven on the needle jet port? They are uneven on all 4 of my carbs. I find it kinda odd...

Oh, and I used Chem - dip to clean the carbs. Stuff works wonders!

I soaked them one at a time. The first one I let soak for 10 minutes as a test run. I could tell a little difference with it. I soaked it for another 20 minutes and gave it another good rinse with water and scrubbed it with a tooth brush with a little simple green. I used a torch tip cleaner in all the small ports to knock the gunk loose before soaking them. They turned out great!

I got the carbs all back together this morning and mounted up. Let the bowls fill and a few kicks later it was running. Not going to lie... tears of joy! I wish I could figure out how to post a video on here. haha
Today I'm getting the extra seat pan I have sandblasted and the tires mounted and ballanced the rims.

After getting the seat pan sand blasted I was kinda disappointed. It looked like swiss cheese. I tried welding a small patch in place of a hole. Wow... it was pretty thin! I had the welder down as low as it would go and still was burning through. 
I decided to put a few thin layers of fiberglass on it to stiffen it up a bit.

After 3 layers of fiberglass I hit it with some sandpaper to knock down some of the rough edges and put two coats of bed liner on it.
It turned out pretty good. Just need to get it reupholstered now.

Haven't posted in a while...

Finally after fixing an oil leak and getting the carbs tuned in a bit better, it's officially on the road. Yesterday was my first ride down the dead end road next to my house. It felt awesome knowing that I was riding something that I built. The feeling of accomplishment. 

My wife took this pic from a distance.  Turned out pretty cool!

Congrats..........so far 8) 8) :) :)

It sure does feel good riding something that you have touched every part of..........including the oily parts. ;D ;D

It still needs a few things here and there. Nothing major... I'm itching to hop on it and go but I have to get it legal first.

I've done that, too, about a stone's toss from a gas station.  It's not fun having to push the whole bike a block or two, especially in Summer heat.  Lucky for you -- you only had to get the can and not push the bike!

It's been a long while since I have posted on here. I'm still going at it! Had a few downhill episodes in the past year. For one I laid it over only going about 15 mph after hitting a patch of pea grave. :/ It messed up the tank, bars, engine cover, and my pride. Since then I have fixed it all and it looks better than ever.  8)

I'm still looking to get a different exhaust and a few other odds and ends. It's slowly getting where I want it.

It's been a long while since I have had an update so I'll keep it short and sweet. About a year ago I hit a patch of loose cinders coming around a turn and ended up laying the Ole girl over.

After a hair over  $1000 in damages, I made the bike look better than it did the first time around. Despite having to sell a few of my guns to come up with the funds, I'm pretty happy of the outcome.

I also bought a brand new 2015 Victory Vegas 8ball. :)
