G'Day Pat, well I certainly wouldn't use Clubmans or Clipons if I was gonna ride too far, the OEM bars are very comfy but not very sporty, and the lower you go, the more uncomfortable they become.
My F2 bars were about a 3 inch rise, and were great on a long ride:

The pullbacks on my K1 were great around town and on the highway too, but no good at 100 MPH:

The 2 inch rise bars on my K2 were good for speed and commuting:

The OEM bars on my blue K2 were great on the highway at legal speeds:

Laverda Jota adjustable bars are the coolest handlebars ever built, but no good for long distances. I only ride my Cafe Racer on short rides:

I'd like to put Ape Hangers on my twin engined bicycle:

The 1" rise bars on my Laverda 750 were more comfortable than the Jota bars, but not by much:

The flat bars on my BMW R100RS were pretty uncomfortable actually:

On the other hand, my Triumph Rocket III bars are great for a long ride, but I think the fairing might help:

The high bars on my CX500 are really good, but it'll only do around 100 MPH:

And the 2" rise bars on my Suzy GS1000 were great for the trip to Phillip Island yesterday:

Cheers, Terry.
