If your were to buy a brand new bike, what would it be?
« on: January 29, 2013, 06:41:15 AM »

Why are so many manufacturers putting such HUGE exhausts on new bikes?  i was a t ashow this weekend and was completely turned off by the new Triumph due to its massive exhaust.  Looked like it was meant to silence the space shuttle.

I had a 09 for a few months and put a muzzy slip on on it. Nice bike.

Currently my only new bike is a 09 R1. I love it and right now am not in the market for another new sport bike.

However if I had some extra cash lying around I would without a doubt go out and get the new Triumph Tiger Explorer XC. Through on an Arrow exhaust, gps, and some luggage and just not come home.

+1. My purchase would likely be an adventure bike also! Would use it very much in Colorado. This would be tempting too:

I looked at that one too this morning. Its interestingly cool. Never look much at the brand since we do not have a dealer local here in MS. Looks like a very fun bike!!

I think they are so huge because they may have a built in catalitic converter nowadays.

If money was nothing, and it would be like getting a free machine of choice......I would go with a massive Harley, just to see what all the hype was about.....something brand new...... that just screams cross country road trip.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

Sportbike?  Something Italian, either Ducati or MV Agusta.

Everyday bike?  KTM.  I'd get their 300cc two-stroke, and since it comes with an MSO, I'd fit the "light kit", road tires and register it as an Enduro.

I'd have a 2013 two-stroke road-legal motorcycle.  F*ck yeah.  Four-jokes can suck it.  Smokers RULE.
