Don't need another bike, but believe me I'm tempted
« on: February 12, 2013, 05:59:11 AM »
I'm a CB750 man all the way, but I've always liked the look of the Honda SL's. Had a brand new 71 SL175 back in the day and loved it. I ran across this near original 2/71 not butchered 1971 SL 350 with title and 10K on the clock and it runs, tires and battery replaced some time last year, but will need plenty of TLC as you can tell by pic. Small dent on right side of tank, missing both side covers, has header pipes but the near impossible to find mufflers are missing, original seat has a lousy recover job needs to be redone, not original tail lamp and owner for some reason put turn signals on it. Shifter shaft seal appears to seep a little oil. Current owner bought it several years ago from a women whose husband was killed in a motorcycle wreck. Owners says he hasn't put more than a 100 miles or so on it. He's wants $1300 bottom line, but still to high IMO. I think its more in the range of a $650 to $750 bike. Comments and opinions please.

When in HS three of us went to the Honda dealer and bought one. Red, blue and I bought the gold. Great bikes.

I've noticed prices are way above his asking price out here. Know where there are several sitting also.

You don't NEED another bike? Sounds like something our wives would say!
But you WANT another bike, that's why we look. Those are nice and you do need a project, right?
But agree with you, $1300 seems high for that for your area. It would be $2000 here.
