Learned quite a bit just reading the add. Not smart on the differences in the early and later models but like the Sandcasts seem to be quite a few.Wonder where this will end ?

If I had money burning through my anus, I'd have to ride it. That thing is too sweet to just park in my living room...

If you go to the Z-1 Enterprise's website theres a section on all the strange stuff about the old Z-1's...

One of my friends bought an old z1 off Ebay, one of those adds where the pics all sucked,it had a Vetter fairing on it and was stuck in the corner of some old barn or something in Wisconsin.
So he hit the buy it now button for 500$ and had it shipped to Georgia.

He calls me up and i go over to his house and he points out the serial number which was like 006xx something..really low.
It was a real rustbucket too..

So im talking to a guy i know and in passing i tell him abou the bike and he is like*how much*?

Long story short,i ended up selling it for my friend to this guy for almost 6000$ just like it sat..
But i did do alot of pictures of all those crazy numbering systems they used, relating to Hirohito's bday or whatever it related to..
Apparently the purists love that junk and it was all over the bike if you scraped the rust off..lol

Who woulda thunk..

One day out old 750's might get this way?
hmm
ok just my two cents worth

I don't necessarily agree with it, Greggo.
L88 is domestic, maybe a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo?

Been awhile since I really checked the going prices of the bikes like that. I always wanted one of those Z1s. Closest I got, was my '83 GPZ1100. Pretty cool bike, at least.

My sister had a late 73 Z900until about 4 ~5 yrs ago.
Never got any further with the restoration after her divorce and sold it for less than the tank restoration cost (in 1984)
Early ones are very prone to cracking head between valve seats (I still have good 1000 head here)

I like the comment in the questions section calling them the 'L88 Corvette of Motorcycles' ;D ;D
as for quote, I would think the Suzuki GSX motor is the 'small block Chevy' of the motorcycle world, in production from 1985 through 2007, 600cc~1200cc most parts interchange (even cranks if you swap clutch gear/clutch basket)

PJ, You gotta remember that the KZ900 first came out in late 1972.  It was way ahead of anything else. The L88 was an early 70's machine also hence the quote.   ;)

Well, the seller ended the listing, maybe sold locally.

Here's a '69 H1 500, not many of these around, bidding is at $8500, yes, for a 500.

Probably got an offer above his 30 K that was real good and ended the listing so he could skip out on all the seller fees  ;) and yes those 69 / early Kaw 500's in both red and white are a hot ticket in the marketplace. They were the quickest also.
