single gauge bracket for k1 triple tree
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:58:47 PM »
I looked around and didn't see anything so figured I'd ask. I have the K1 "unicorn" top triple on my bike and I would like to run just the stock tach right in the middle. Will any of the single guage brackets that are made for the later models out there bolt right to it under my bars and just sit on top of the old bracket? I'd rather not part w/ the triple tree and don't want to have to change it out unless that is my only option. What do you think?

thanks,
richard

Run a 73-76 k top tree, make a bracket to go off the two mounts on the tree.

Funny thing, when I first got the bike I actually thought about that. Glad I slowed down a little bit and learned a thing or two before I started hacking it up.

I was going through the box of goodies I have from the PO and found the trim rings that go around the gauges. Then I started looking at the gauges and figured I could use them both w/ a little overhaul. So now the flavor of the day for me is getting the gauges back going. I checked all the lights in the gauges and they work so looks like I'm in business. Just need to get some cables and I should be ready to rock and roll.

Heres some pics of my progress yesterday.
