Triumph has just recalled a bunch of 2011 and 2012 bikes because some "unapproved" wheel bearings were somehow used. Triumph has "no details regarding the bearing supplier, or its quality controls and standards" so they have to inspect and possibly replace them.
Exactly what you and I get if we buy "white box" bearings online or at swap meets to save a dollar or three. They might be excellent or horrible.
It's best to get bearings from Honda or, to be thrifty, a reputable industrial suppliers - and then I want a known good name brand like SKF, FAG, NTN...
We only have two wheels keeping us off the pavement.
