New engine covers
« on: February 17, 2013, 11:01:21 AM »
We been making some point and clutch covers in our spare time.  I have been polishing up some prototypes this weekend.  What do you think?

I like the Honda wing but the 750-4 cover I really like.  I have a 550 cafe I am working on and it will have a custom cover, too.
BTW, these are billet aluminum parts.

We may be selling and making them custom.  The trick is to maintain quality and keep the costs low enough for good price.

If you want a different engine size engraved or different graphic we can do that too.

We are still thinking about a change in the fins for a better finish to make it them easier to polish.

The CNC programer is happier doing custom one off work and I need to keep him contented.

Shoot me a message when you have pricing for a points cover. Mine is dented and I wanted to give it an upgraded look.

theres someone thats making a higher output alt for the 750 that sits more shallow. There was talk about how it would be awesome if someone make a shallower cover... could be a niche for you..

You always hate to ask but since you have yet to post..... how much for a points cover with the wing and CB1000F or CB900F below it?
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Yo steve, what would it cost for plain, smooth, chrome covers...like, without honda or anything, just plain and smooth?

Ok, pricing is important.  Let me have the weekend to come up with a price.

The covers were done as fill in work in our shop.  These were made for my bike and I am pleased that people like what we designed.

We have made just the 3 posted above.   I have 750 and 550 engines to check fit of parts.  Other bikes,  I would need an old cover to measure to be sure it would fit.  The Honda Wing is a Honda patent and I should not sell something like that for legal reasons.  Supply your own logo and if we can likely reproduce it.

I am thinking of a clutch cover for those who do not use the kickstarter.  That one will not have the recessed area to clear the the kick starter.  Any interest?

Will price-

Ribbed points cover and ribbed clutch cover

Plain points cover
     chromed and Polished aluminum

Thanks for you interest

Rats...  The Honda Wing was my favorite, but I understand.  Would it be possible to engrave it just like the stock chrome cover - "Honda," inside a recessed area, but without the "Made in Japan" on the bottom?

These covers look great. I also like the Honda Wing design but you don't want to get yourself in hot water with a company that has unlimited resources for suing your butt. Glad to see something like this around since originals in good shape are hard to come by. My points cover is dented and I would be a future customer if you start offering these for sale.

Good work.

Thank for your interest,

Plain points cover ---$200
Plain clutch cover ---$200

Ribbed points cover ---$250
Ribbed clutch cover ---$250

Clutch covers come with the kickstarter cut out or no cut out

Engraved letters $2 each for example "750" would be $6

Agreed...too rich for my blood. Cyclexchange.net has finned covers for $80-$90 in polished or black. No customization, however.
