CB400T headlight
« on: July 17, 2006, 06:23:12 PM »
I hate the headlight in my 1978 Honda CB400T. It so dim I would probably be better off hiring a guy to run out in front of me holding a candle. It is so faint that if I gun it I actually go faster than the light streaming out of this poor, 28-year-old Stanley bulb. So I wanted to upgrade it to something made in, say, this millineum. Imagine my chagrin when I discovered that the bulb retainer is part of the bulb itself. Surely someone has faced this dilemma and defeated it. How? I'd like to put in an H4, but I don't know how to hold it in the bike, short of changing out the whole headlight fixture. I am open to suggestions.

I've got a Stanly H4 off a later model CB400T. Its about 6"dia.lens, tapers to about 7" at headlight bowl mounting. (I think it also fits CB400F)
Rim is damaged but light is perfect
 PM me if your interested.
