Put me down for one as well.  Don't know where I'll get the money for it. Guess I need to start selling some of my junk on eBay.

anders needs 10 guys to commit and then he can start development. I think the list is around 4 or 5 right now but don't quote me. Throw your name on the list if you really want one!

Name is already on the list. I wasn't aware he needed 10 to start though. no mention of that.

-13 is way to cold for me. If we can get ten 550 guys that are willing to commit to buy one at $600 I will design and prototype a kit. My guess would be around six weeks until prototype is ready for testing. So the next thing would be to start a list of guys that want one.

Didn't realize you were on the list. Sorry bout that.

Im still very interested in this happening for a 550. We need more people interested before Anders will start making one for the 550/500's. Im hoping this will catch some other peoples eye to get in on the process.

Anders, Any updates from other people wanting them?

I wish I could afford that right now.  I am about to pull and clean my connectors.  I may not ride in the winter, but having experienced the awful stop and go in heavy traffic issues.  It causes idiots to think I want ot race em too much. lol

Might be able to afford this soon though.  I hope you do get enough people.

for the 750, how difficult is the installation if I were to do it my self?

Very straightforward. I think the hardest part is removing the old rotor.

Just rode to work in 38F temps and with heated gloves and jacket liner I was too hot - felt like 75F! Not possible to run toasty heated gear without Anders alt upgrade!

Had to relocate the heat troller from under the airbox as it got too warm there and melted the glue holding it in place. Now in pocket so just one lead going to the battery connection - helps also to have a Moto Batt battery with 4-terminals or fuse holder.

cheers
Andy

Hopefully that lights a fire for some people and gets more interest in a 500/550 upgrade.

Hi Anders,

Forgive me if you mentioned this already, but you get to keep your electric start with your set up correct?  I think I remember reading that the cycle x kit does not support electric start.

Thanks!

Hey, that's great! How easy is the setup? Is it just plug and play? Any instructions on install would be great. I'll message you so we can start the process.

I am patiently waiting but not looking good so far for the 550/500s. Need more people to be interested in it for anders to start I guess.

If I may, yes this supports the electric start. It mounts fully in the stock alt cover. See Andy's touring bike on this page. Also see the first post and posts on page 5-6 for pics showing the install complete with starter clutch and gear attached to the new rotor.

The CycleX outfit is more for a kickonly racer. Much narrower for left hand turn clearance.  Not so much for a touring app.

Though given some cover mods, Anders alt would also yield more turn clearance. But his emphasis was on electricity output, not clearance.

Yes you still  have the electric starter. I mod the stock starter gear to fit the new alternator.
