Well since 30 grams = 1.05 ounces a nice stream would yeild even more.  Now after a nice Mexican meal I guess we could expect a 1/4 hp gain. So our Mothers were right, make sure you go before you leave the house.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

 No it wasnt ice cream this time... it was taking Anders to a local Italian restaurant where he got his coffee served by a very hot Asian waitress ;)

Testing begins when the snow melts...

It is my small contribution to a noble effort.

I have also spent some time with MikeR, Andy, and I met Anders this summer. I have had a great time with these people and hope to again.

This is actually something I have been mulling over for some time. Andy and I discussed how to use heated gear and leaving some power for trivial things like headlights, ignition, turn signals. If I have one annoying fault with my 750 is the anemic charging system even in normal use.

I am not sure the lighter weight is that crucial for me, but alternator output capacity certainly is.

The crankshaft tapper on the 550 is small than the 750. But the good news is the 32amp.
flywheel fits inside the cover. My next thing is I need to get a 550 motor or bike to design
a 550 kit.

i have bare cases and a crank,bit heavy to post,the 550 and 500 share the same alternator.

I am using a VFR800 flywheel and winding in my 550 cases.  Picked up a later alternator cover with the exposed bolt holes and had a spacer made up to go inside the cover to hold the windings and a tapered sleeve on the crank for the flywheel.  Was pretty straight forward.
