I am still very keen on a 750 unit. Wanting to build a bike with fuel injection and certainly need the charging system upgraded

Dunk, have you coordinated with Anders to get him your 550 for prototype & testing?

I'd still get a 550 kit if someone would help Anderson develop it.

Sounds like a fantastic upgrade for aging charging systems.

It's actually Lostboy Steve's 550, I only have 750s. I could transport is Steve and Anders worked something out. I've been up north for a couple weeks now, returning after labor day. Probably missed the free transport until spring or summer next year.

Also, I'm still interestes in a 750 kit if Anders is still making these. If not, details on what off the shelf parts are used and what is required to adapt it would be helpful for those of us wanting a better charging system.

My 550 hasn't left the garage. It's title-less and although completely finished I've hit a roadblock for the Vermont deal. My other 550 needs a rocker box repair which I am tackling on a different thread.

Like I said the title-less one is still available but is running a minimal system and solid state reg/rect. I don't know if that will effect r&d on a charging system upgrade.

Does he really need a whole CB550?  Wouldn't it be easier for him, or even us, to source a used motor for development?  Maybe we could all chip in a little on development to move things forward.
Shipping would be expensive if we sourced it, unless someone fairly close wants to drive it to him.

I know this thread is reaching drinking age but are you still offering the cb75o unit? I am about done with carbs and need to bump up the juice a bit to run efi.

This thread is dead. There will be no more units sold for the Alternator upgrade. Machines are all gone. Shop closed. Sorry. Someone else needs to re-invent. I have one of the units and feel very very lucky. Thanks Anders.

Mantree - the only bolt on, high output alternators for our bikes I’m aware of are the kits from Electrex World UK. They make about 25amps, but I wouldn’t expect to make much more than the stock system at idle based on the power output data-points their technical support furnished.

I saw Anders today....this is definitely happening with hopefully 20 units being made. I was running my bike yesterday and it is interesting as the headlight dims at low RPM with the stock charging system. With Anders unit it never dims.
