Cyl block boring in Vancouver/Fraser Valley?
« on: February 06, 2013, 06:47:41 AM »
I'm trying to find a recommendation for a good shop in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area of BC to bore out my block. There are a few places in Vancouver that do this work but they are $$$. Any leads would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It's not a wise thing to have done cheaply.

Cliff - thanks. I will contact them.

bwaller - I agree. I'm not looking to have the work done cheaply. I'm looking to have it done for less money.

Cliff - I forgot to ask: what did you pay for Mongoose to do the work? I'm just looking for ballpark right now, as I might decide to swap in my K2 motor if my F2 looks like it's going to be too much $. Thanks.

I have also used mongoose and I do highly recommend them. Although it was not "cheap". If I remember correctly around $400 to resurface my head, valve job, hot tank and bead blast.  The work was top notch and I don't think you will have any complaints with them, very knowledgable people. You get what you pay for I guess..

Mongoose is crazy expensive.

Alex's Automotive on Fraser is where it's at. It's a family business, the quality is top notch, prices are great and they are nice guys.

FunJimmy and I have both used them. Would not hesitate to go back.

Bluegreen - thanks a bunch! That's exactly what I was looking for - quality at a reasonable price. I did see Alex's shop come up when searching, and will give them a call today. Cheers.
