love the "stance".

not sure of the year, getting engine vin.  am told:  denvers frame and oilbag, 20" CCW girder front, coffin tank,
mini drum front wheel.  no speedo, no front brake (duh!), no tacho, but clean.

asking $3500.  possibly just about unrideable (but have never ridden a choppa), unknown miles, etc but still ....................

investment?  once a month toodle around?  will i lose if sold in a coupla years?

Buy it, change the rake back and turn it into a crotch bobber like SOHC Digger!  Seat would have to go too.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

3500 is too much with that unsafe frontend.  You would not like the handling i am sure.  $1800 is more realistic.

As long as there is a way to modify the forks to make them a little longer, I would definitely go for it.  ;)

I vote no!  To much for too little.  I'm sure the money went into the bike but that doesn't make it a good ride.  For those of us who are vertically challenged, as I am,  I don't think I could reach the bars without busting my balls on the tank. I'd look for something like this instead....

Looks like it belongs on the cartoon Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch.  If you don't know what that is, look it up on youtube.

Price does seem a bit steep.  Wild customs like this don't tend to bring in much money because they appeal only to a small market.

Here's the thing.  If you love the bike and really think OMG when you see it AND you have the spare cash, buy it.  Cant put a price on happiness.

This sold at ebay auction for $2200.  It had fresh paint, tuned well, new wiring, new tires, Invader chrome wheels, just overall a solid and good handling machine along the same lines.

Not sure why you think bars are hard to reach?..they are further away on the last bike. I like the look of thefirst, more than the second. If you think the price is high, try building one..

You could derake. The first one and make it look like this..

A couple of choppers around here in similar condition were going for around 2500.

If it's got a "mini drum front wheel" then you have a front brake there.  A "spool wheel" has no brakes. (At least according to the terminology I've learned)

Pictures sort of conceal condition, but if it's solid and you can talk him down, probably worth buying if you like it.

If the bushing are all tight on that girder, and the springs are still good, I probably wouldn't call it unsafe, but it's surely no corner carver.  Cruising around town though?  Probably a total blast.

Another vote for no, price too high. Looks cool though. You may want to ride a choppa before you buy one, it's a differant game.

I have ridden bikes with similar front brakes...it does absolutely nothing except maybe hold you in place while stopped...also, hardtail choppers do not transfer weight to the front when braking like a normal bike
If it works good, it looks good...

If you havent been around good choppers, you may be surprised..but they got to be set up properly then they can be a no. hands bike and corner quite well.

After many trips to Sturgis, I have seen people do a lot of stuff on choppers, that was truly impressive.. They sure are fun out on the open road...

I would buy it in a heart beat if I didn't build all my own choppers .

If you buy it right, you will get your money back. I wouldn't expect a bike like this to appreciate in value, unless it was built by Indian Larry or someone like that. Think of it as hot rod. Those guys pour money into building them, and sell for a loss ,a lot of the time. Why would someone do this? For the love of their hobby .

Personal opinion here, over priced and handling and maneuverability  will be a disappointment.
The excessive rake and length may make for good eye candy and great for a display in your garage or in a sports bar, otherwise, you can buy better for less.  Suggest you test ride it before you commit or negotiate a price.  It all depends what you want and if cost is an issue.
Good luck to you.  Stickman

thanks for the replies folks, am gonna pass.

a little research here/there tells me it is indeed overpriced, it won't fit in my truck for transpo, "no test rides" even with full payment in hand (?), prob won't increase in value that much, ergos will be prob for me and i'm not sure if the funky handling will be at slow, medium or faster speeds, or all speeds.  i still like the look, but too many negatives.

OMG Why do people think just because a chopper is LONG , it's hard to ride?? The only thing that would make it unsafe to ride is the RIDER. If you measured the RAKE and TRAIL of that front end ,you 'd probably see it's about a +4 or +5 which is perfect.
The longer they are the BETTER they handle on the open road... LOOK at my avatar , it's 9'6" long
The second chopper is a SANTEE SWING ARM frame and I'm suprised it didn't sell for more. I put out a invite to you, Bring yourselves to the WHCM in NC and ride your stock bikes around some of the twisties with us, we promise we'll slow down for you!

I agree with you Xnavylfr mine handles great on the turns the price on that one is high. I paid $1,500 for my amen savior chopper. I put a 12 over springer on it and it does great. I'll admit turning it around is a bit of a booger sometimes. A 3 point turn turns into a 5 or 6 once in a while. Steam powered man if this is something your after build your own you can do it cheap sometimes. It's the extra fancy parts that get you. When mine gets done this month I'll have around $2,500 in it. That's with new paint rechroming seat ect ect. If at all possible try to find a plunger frame and go with a springer front end. You'll feel like your riding on a cloud (sometimes).
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"

My CB750(AVATAR) chopper is basically a stock rear half of the frame with the seat rail lowered(KONGED) with a DOHC swingarm for an extra 3". The front half is single backbone and downtube with a Narrow FURY springer. The handlebars are HARLEY pullback T bars and when I sit on the seat and reach straight out from my shoulders is exactly where the controls are cause I built it that way!!!!
Yes ,I agree there are some poorly built Choppers out there  that will toss you like a RODEO BULL (Lucky to get an 8 second ride) We can agree to disagree, some  like choppers, bobbers crotch rockets, cruiser,  they all have 2 wheels and they are meant to be ridden so get off your lazy backside and ride ,get some fresh air and quit #$%*ing about what somebody else rides!!

YES !!! A denvers choppers is well sought after in the Chopper world. In the same since so are the AMEN Savior frames. They were built with the lines of a rigid but had a spring section that the rear axle floated in. Some said the rear felt squirrely  and loose but if you had GOOD springs and bushings it was a VERY comfy ride.
