do you mean the boots connecting the carbs to the airbox won't go on, or you cant get the carbs in the engine boots?

either way, try heating them up  (hot water/hair dryer)

if it's the air box boots, take them out of the airbox till you get the carbs back on the engine, then put them back on one at a time....it's a pain, but it's easier.
i love babies...

A touch of petrolium jelly will help too.
76' cb750f custom
69' cb750 sandcast
69' CT90
Amen Saviour 750 Chopper frame
and enough parts to build about 6-7 more bikes

Another trick gleaned from the Kawa GTR riders is to get a bucket of very hot water and let them sit in that for a while.  I mean too hot to put your hand in.
