Good question!  I can't find the number published anywhere (for the 77/78 bikes) - yet - but I'll keep looking.

However, since the cam/head/pistons all stayed the same for the 76 through 78 A bikes, I doubt that the HP rating changed either . . . .

1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

Gotta love the optimist! My bet would be lower 130's. My "big" Hondamatic motor made 100 horses at the rear wheel and had 124 mph trap speeds. A naked bike is a big brick cutting through the air. I'm running a quarter fairing on my drag bike that helps a little. Kinda like cutting a square foot off of the 4X8' plywood sheet that I'm pushing down the road. ;)

Bonneville, hell yeah. You have a place to stay on the way and another drinking err pit crew member. In light of the recent legalities however I'm not so sure that you should stop over for anything but gas...................

I'll save some cardboard so we can make that air cutting fairing Jon refers too... Jon you gotta come along. Who would we rib if you aren't here  ;D

From a Honda site, the 47 HP applied to the 77 model too.  I know it is a EARA model - but it is clearly a 77.  I realize that 47 PS is slightly less than 47 HP - but it is close enough . . . .
