Topic: What's with the z50 minitrails?

They've been popping up around here for a while and asking big money.  Who is buying these things?  With those prices I doubt they're being bought by parents or grandparents for the little ones to thrash around?  Are hipsters abandoning cafe racers in favour of minitrails?

Probably a lot of us 'older' folk remember them when we were younger and maybe people are buying back their memories a little.Seems to be kind of a cult following on them and they can be like a toy and they don't take up much room. When I was younger those and the larger mini trails with the folding bars were always seen strapped to the back of campers and motorhomes.

So it's purely a nostalgia thing. I didn't think anybody is buying to ride.

Maybe you guys need to ride this 1969 Honda Mini-Trail with a 1967 Triumph 650 TT120 Engine.  Yes, it is fast and sounds great !

In the UK there are basically two groups of owners, those that do concourse restorations and those that modify then to make them more practical. (although many have one or two of each)

Mine is fitted with a tuned 125cc and tops out close to 70mph, which feels quick on 8" wheels.
Engines that just bolt in now available up to 300cc, but there is one with a sohc 750 in it out there somewhere.

On the right roads they're great fun to ride.

My Mom had a 1969 pontiac catalina and with the bars folded down on my 1970 CT70 we could put it in the back seat and haul it over to my other friends to go rider. Man what great memories !!

Here's another thought, but its about CT70's.    A couple of years ago I was at All Clubs Day in Stockbridge, Michigan and took some photos and video.
