What does 'mint' mean?  Original low mileage never restored?  Or perfectly rebuilt/refinished like-new restoration?

If it's cosmetically and mechanically perfect, $2000 wouldn't be unreasonable.  I bought a '76 CB550F for $350 and will break $1,700 in total costs in the next two weeks - of that only $500 is labour from my mechanic.  The other $1,200 is new parts and boring the cylinders for new pistons/rings.

The advantage I have is I know exactly what is on/in my bike.  Any bike can be made to look nice.  Make sure everything is as it should be - compression check, hear it run cold and hot - any idle loping?  If it is mint and working perfectly, like I say, $2000 isn't a bad deal (in my books).

If you can get it for less and it's perfect, and you LOVE it (don't settle if you had your heart set on a 500 or a different model for example) then buy it.

Let's see pics!

Not the most sought after model its worth whatever you want to pay
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Paied 350 for my F0 (i think it was 350) Had been sitting outside under a tarp for several years, but after some good cleaning its in great condition.. 6k on the clock.. factory paint is flawless.. spent probably 200$ in cleaning supplies/tune up parts/shop materials. Was offered 1200 for it last summer. I paied 500 for my K6 750 and had less than desired results.

I payed $800 for my 1975 K5 CB750 a couple of years ago. It was in very clean original shape (no rust, minimal fading on paint, all parts there except speedo), I wouldn't say mint but it is better than 80% of the k5's I have seen in the last few years. I would say if you really want it $2000 is on the high side but still not totaly unreasonable. If you end up paying between $1000 and $1500 I'd say you did good.
