Handlebar grip size

Cb550K

Just wondering.... Would 4 1/2 inch length handlebar grips work? Or do they have to be a certain length as well....

4.5" will probably work. If they are too long just trim your throttle tube, it is only nylon anyway.

Most grips are similar sized in length so it will prob match right up

Was actually worried about it running short as I see a lot of grips 5 1/2 for cb550 on eBay

Yep, one slides on the throttle tube (bigger one), the other straight into the handlebar.

The grips often come with a little foam plastic spacer to take up the gap.

I replaced my 5" OEM grips with 4 1/2" grips and found that my hand seemed to cramp up a lot. Soon after I switched back to a new 5" set and I'm happy again. I'm also using stock Honda bars which locate the controls and didn't care for the 1/2" that the bars extended beyond the grip end. I suppose if I had liked the 4.5s I could have cut the bar shorter though...
