Refinishing brake pedal
« on: February 15, 2013, 08:34:07 AM »
I will need to weld on a brake pedal and it is rusty already - however I will grind it, weld it, grind it again and when I am done, I will need to finish it somehow.

What are my options on the refinish?  I dont think paint would last long there, maybe powdercoating?  Chroming obviously, can be hard to find and expensive to outsource.

Opinions, experience?

Thanks!

i just had a ton of parts electro galvanised and my brake pedal was one of the bits....it came out really great! it wont rust and is hard wearing unlike most other coatings. It is cheap and well worth it!!!!!!! gives a stock like finish and nice and shiny provided the surface is smooth.

remember, no hot dipping, thats messy stuff. electro galvanising. ;)

Just heard about this outfit. Apparently they're inexpensive, good and temporarily have free shipping both ways.
