WTF,Domestic Drones??
« on: February 15, 2013, 05:01:53 AM »
Remember when you used to be able to find a back road and let loose a bit?
Can our own government really do this?? It doesnt seem right to me.

Eh, the police state is already firmly in place so what's a few more cameras with Hellfire missiles gonna really do, right? Eliminates the need for cameras on every street. Now if they could only get the technology right for the mirror that you have to smile just right in front of before you go out for the day...

No it doesnt seem right at all! Its unethical to label an illegal immigrant as illegal cuz it offends him but its ok to be watched from the sky by a nintendo pilot 500 miled away? WTFnF! This story pisses me off & its another way for big brother to get a better view into my life.

There will be a story someday involving these drones & a couple country boys in a field with a tailgate full of rifles. The drone navigator will have thought he witnessed terorist activity cuz one of the magazines might be loaded with 9 rounds instead of 8....... GD muther phuckers......

Drones have their place. They are great in situations where you should not send a Pilot. They should be limited to very specific purposes. Forest fires, Border patrol, special Police activities. They should be be allowed for general surveillance of the population. We need to fight for our  right to privacy.

No question about that Bobby, the Big Brother is coming no matter what.  Only thing that matters now is, if we go down screaming and kicking or if we go like sheep.

We already have some of our local state level officials proposing legislation to limit the use of drones  for routine surveillance.  It would not prohibit the use of drones to counter high risk of a terrorist attack or if a warrant is obtained. It would keep law enforcement from conducting routine surveillance of citizens or groups.  Any evidence obtained under those circumstances would not be admissible in court.  Other states are also proposing similar legislation.  So it's not all black helicopters and conspiracy theories. ;D  Keep on your local elected officials as they are the ones who are more responsive and with whom you can have the most input.

Are domestic drones any worse than the use of them internationally where they are used for "targeted" assassinations, where more often than not innocent civilians including women and children are killed referred to as "collateral" damage. Their use domestically is just the next step in the current unregulated and unethical use of drones by the US government.

I am with you Andy, domestic or foreign you can bet your bottom dollar our government will abuse a tool such as this. They have shown their ability to abuse this technology quite spectacularly already. Then our government wonders why people in Pakistan hate our government so much. DUH, quit killing innocent people indiscriminately.  ::)

The hate is universal, don't blame it on drones.  Ever flew drones over France? Still French don't like Americans and USA government.

Look, everybody loathes the Frogs, I am pretty sure they hate themselves too for being Frenchy.
And don't confuse a government with the peolple as a whole, there are a lot of people here that are great, generous people.
The bad eggs tend to ruin it for everybody.

Okay, so just don't sun bath naked in your back yard, and nobody gets hurt.

but seriously, as CNN reported today, domestic drones, as a regular thing, are years away, and before it becomes commonplace, rules to protect privacy must be in place.  So the only question that should remain is, what do you have against enforcing the law?  Got something to hide?  You do realize that crime costs society real money.

And don't get me wrong, I'm with you on the speed cams.  Everybody speeds a little.  But just them.  Red light cams truly save lives, including us(motorcyclists).

I have mixed feelings about using drones for tactical operations. It avoids having to send troops in or trying perform an operation. The drones have more time and are able to more precisely acquire a target. Sadly, anyone within the blast zone will probably become a causality.

Using Fighters or Gunships for the same purpose will always create more "collateral" damage which is a BS term for innocent causalities. Pilots will tend to generally acquire the target, fire as many rockets as they can given the time they have and quickly move away to safety. The result of all that ordinance is simply horrible.

The use of drones as they are today is very troubling. They do however seem to keep the Terror network disorganized.

Skynet is here wheather we like it or not.The people spoke up in Seattle against the police using them, now the police are sending them back to the drone company saying 'no thanks'
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.
