Battery Amp Requirements
« on: February 17, 2013, 12:28:56 AM »
Howdy, I just wanted to run the question of, does the bike need energy from the battery at higher RPM? I was looking on the Manual for the cb500-550, and its saying that above 3k RPM you need at least 14.5AMPS of power coming through.

Now the battery that I was looking at was http://www.batterystuff.com/powersports-batteries/sYT12C.html#reviews after doing some good ol' sohc4 searching. Now what I noticed that the power delivered from the battery would be ~12AMPS.
Does this mean that the battery wont perform? What would be the repercussions of doing so? What about in general for bikes? (just incase someone is reading this 6-8 months down the line...) speaking of which... there should be a place for part recommendations? Quick someone make a spreadsheet!

no worries, the chart shows that day riding(headlight off?)itll or should charge 2.4 amps at 3000,and at night light on itll drop to one amp,,all those numbers will be very flexible on these old bikes, your results may vary.
