Here's hoping that y'all arrived safely. That's a lot of super-slab travel.

jtb is pretty good at finding a way to drop off the superslab for portions of the ride and still make good time.  I think he has a few things in mind!

Alright fellows, wish us luck.  About to head out with jtb and GZ for Eastern Arkansas to meet coke and company!  Thermos is full of hot coffee.  Should be good to go.

From what I saw at Cheaha, those machines are well taken care of. I'm sure you'll make it there and back - no jinxing here! Here's wishing good tire pressure, good spark, and plenty of clean, non-ethanol fuel for y'all.

Had a good lunch with Coke and Sons in Helena, AR.  GZ passed over to Coke.  Tried to get GZ to look at the Mississippi River, wasn't impressed at all.  Said he could jump it.
Kirk and I are home safe and sound after 574 miles.  Only problem... I only had one cold beer in the fridge.  >:( >:( >:(

Oh, well.  There's always scotch. 8)

Well I am having my last cup of coffee from the thermos I filled this morning.  Still hot - gotta love a good thermos!

We have some pictures, but will have to do the upload later.  Too tired.

It was low to mid 40s this morning when John and I met at a truck stop just north of town where we arrived a within minutes of each other and started right out.  Chilly for the first few hours, but not uncomfortable.  The temp warmed to around 80 mid afternoon and cooled off slowly after sunset, so it was a real nice day for riding.  Really enjoyed meeting Coke and sons, sharing a meal and some stories, admiring bikes and riding a short way across the Mississippi River before splitting up to head back to our respective homes.

More later...

GZ arrived at his Van Buren rest over last night around 9.  it got kinda chilly after the sun went down.  enjoyed meeting up with JTB and KPier883.  enjoyed a nice meal at a mexican restaurant, rode over to Mississippi with them for the fun of it and then turned parted and my sons and I headed back to western AR.  He will hit the road again this coming Saturday to visit with the Texas crew for a while.  I hate that he missed Louisiana this year.  I am trying to figure out how I could take a day this week and run him down to the border and run him back, but I don't think it is going to work out.
