I am working in KS right  now but will be visiting my house in TN for a week in April/May (about an hour west of the dragons tail/deals gap)  After my week in TN I will be back in KS for the summer and have no problem carting the little guy around any weekend.  I will be back in TN again in Early October for a beerfest in Knoxville TN so can help then too.

Hey Guys!

I'm really slammed with a business merger I'm handling...but, I hope to be able to jump in here.  At this point either Saturday might work and the route dosent really matter.  I'll keep my eye on the forum and.... let's hope Vern / Adam / Travis can get involved.  One way or another we will make it work!

Cheers!

I can be in Tifton(or elsewhere east) Sunday 3/10 after lunch. Take the lizard to Savannah and into SC where I live. Hold him a week and swing him north 3/17 towards the Atlanta crew. I know Bluto and Bluesboy . There's a couple others up there as well.
If nccb(NC) or scotts(SC) will meet mid state SC On Sunday 3/17 they can put the lizard in NC and send it over to Atlanta and westward to AL.
Im not real flexible. I have 2 full time jobs(no benefits) and kids. One thing is for sure! I have Sunday off!
 My # is 843-304-3328

Ps. My 9 year old is riding this year if it lines up.
Ill be going over the k-4 Sunday for sure!

That would work for me.  I would have riding buddies!

madmtnmotors, how would a Sunday 10th morning meet at the Georgia/Florida line on I-75 work for you?  Then we/I could drive north and meet with bender01 and head northeast toward Savannah?

Just curious, bender01, would the following weekend work for you too?  Looking for lots of options will make this easier.

I'll suggest meeting kpier883 at the Barber Motorsports Museum just outside of Birmingham for the hand-off. What better place to snap photos of the rubber monster munchkin than Barber? Maybe I can low-side the 550 in turn 6 to relive somewhat recent memories - not.

I just came from my shop.  Not good.  I was adjusting shims on my needles to fine tune a little.  The bike was up on the lift, idling.  It started to labor a little like it was running out of gas.  It wasn't warmed up yet.  I gave a little blip of throttle and it shut off like NOW.  No normal engine stop like when you turn it off.  I touch the start button and it doesn't even begin to turn the motor over. Long story short, my motor just locked up solid.

This isn't the thread for such a discussion, so I'll just say I won't be on this POS if the tour comes by here, but I do have a Kawasaki that is ready to go, if that is acceptable.  If not, I need to humbly (and grumbly) bow out.

Riders of all makes are welcome. The only rule we have tried to maintain is that GZ ride on a SOHC4.  ;)

Tifton, Hazelhurst, and Savannah are all about the same distance from Daytona. Hazelhurst would take longer due to the nature of the secondary roads required to get there. A Sunday meet-up would likely mean "drop and go" for me since I would have at least a five hour ride back home, where a Saturday meet-up would give me more time to visit with the recieving rider(s) since my return leg could extend into Sunday. Saturday evening handoff with a local sleepover would be ideal. I'm open to camping if the weather warms up, otherwise a night "at the six" wouldn't break me.  8)

Orrrr... there's always the option to roll with the "Event Theme" where me and GZ terrorize Daytona and then "Team Brown" carries GZ to the next event...

Potentially less than a week before kick-off on 3/8 thru 3/10 (unless we wait until the following weekend of 3/15 thru 3/17) and I'm still not sure where I'm going. Gonna need some feedback soon...

I'm still pretty flexible, I could probably swing a Monday off (instead of Friday) in order to do a handoff on Sunday (either 3/10 or 3/17).  8)

I could ride to Birmingham and hit MS and LA back up to AR (my house) then maybe me and Zeek and Taxiscooter and RoachCarver could make a run through OK into LA and TX so the Austin crew can come up and meet us to carry the baton back to Austin and points west.

My young son has an old KZ750 we got running together so I may have company if no one else is riding that far.

Marc/K3Owner in Douglasville GA

I am good with this option, so if Marc is going to meet me at Barbers then I can go one of two ways.  Option 1 is to meet the Houston contingency somewhere in Louisiana (covering MS) while option 2 is to head more northerly through MS to meet up with Coke in Little Rock or Van Buren, then I'd head back home and let him proceed to OK, LA, TX since he's planning to go that way anyhow.

Here is my only problem right now.  The handling on my SOHC has gotten squirrelly and I have found that it is in need of a swing arm rebuild.  Not comfortable starting on any long journey on it at this time.  I will have to ride the '80 CBX this year.  I don't have a problem with that, but if that bothers anyone, then I'd rather get it out in the open now than later.

My take is that if it is okay to UPS him to cover some stretches, it shouldn't be a problem to ride a CBX.  But, I don't want to somehow violate the spirit of the relay.

So my CB is definitely down for the count.  My oil pan looks like a machine shop floor, shavings everywhere.  I am now in the "watch Craigslist daily" mode for a new engine.

I am still willing to ride along on my KZ but I understand and agree with a CB carrying the moniker.  So then I become an optional rather than necessary link to the route.

If the routing comes around Waycross, Tifton or up the I-75 corridor I will be happy to meet and ride along with you guys.  Otherwise, I understand the need to trim the fat off the route.  Wish it would have worked out better.

Hey Wilbur,

Let's try to get this train back on the tracks......

Me, Vern and Adam are up fo a this Sunday ride to Hazlehurst Ga. to pickup the lizard.  How does that work for you?  Let us know and we can lock in times and places.  It does look like it will be another "quick handoff and hit the road" kind of deal.  We are all wanting to make it a 1 day round trip.

Waiting to hear from you Bro..........

Sounds good, Sunday should work for me. The earlier the better, hopefully around lunchtime? We could at least grab a bite to eat before heading seperate ways...

I'll likely ride up close to Hazelhurst on Saturday afternoon/evening to help break it up so I only have to cover 300+ each day. I'll goof around Daytona Saturday looking for photo ops. Sunday should be the warmer day.

Anyone familiar with Hazelhurst that can suggest a good meet-up spot?

Anyone familiar with Hazelhurst that can suggest a good meet-up spot?

Looks like the plan is coming together.  We are meeting at the Covington Ga courthouse a@ 8:30.  That should put us in Hazlehurst close to lunch...I'll check around and try to find us a Hazlehurst "Hot Spot" to meet.

Anybody that wants to join in give me a shout!  Or just show up!

Stay tuned Wilbur.  Looking forward to seeing you again!

Not sure, Bluto, if you want to hand it off to me but my services are available. I can still take the little monster out to Birmingham for a quick drop off at Barber. I hear Cheaha is nice this year and have never been there.

The 550K3 is at the ready. Let me know. Anyone want to come along? Looks like about 360 round trip.

HI Marc,

Come on over to Covington Sunday morning and join us!  As far as the next leg...we don't have a plan as of yet.  If you want to take the lead on that.....great!  From what I've seen so far I do think that Bham is the direction it needs to head.

Hope to see you Sunday!
