If so, then us getting there on Saturday should work. In a pinch I could move some things around and meet you on a Friday instead, but early Sat. would be best. Work for you?
It's pretty much a full days ride for me to Joshua Tree, so I would plan to get there Friday afternoon for an early Saturday meeting. If you left San Diego in the morning, you could be in JT before noon, and in Willow by 3:00 or so. Keep the ideas coming! Anyone else up for a meetup in Joshua Tree?

That is great. Tentatively I'll also try to arrive in 29 Palms late Friday and I'll stay the overnight in a choice fleabag, then be ready to go whenever on Saturday. Maybe we can pick up more people from LA in Victorville.

Sounded like you guys really put some serious miles into these old bikes!

I'm about 2.5-3 hours from Victorville by car, and I thought that's far already! Would I make it out there on bike? Gas problems? Hmm.....???

Won't make it there on the bike unless you get on it and ride! That's one of the main purposes to do the Relay. That and to meet these guys you are communicating with on the forum.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Go for it. Weather should be ideal. Take your time and hopefully we'll see you in Victorville or thereabouts.

yes, i'm still in this.  saturday is great, but can't stay overnight.  if i did, i think my 3 boys will be jumping all over me, or that my wife would not let me back into the house.  (haven't told my family about this relay ride either, lol)

Gold, what about a day ride to Willow Springs taking a more direct path than through Victimville? Would that work better for you?

Hi all, came across this thread and thought I might be able to participate. I will be leaving from Pasadena the first week of May and will be riding North up  the coast to Seattle.

New, it's looking like GZ may not make it to CA by the first week of May; more like the 2nd week? Is there any way you could adjust your schedule to mesh up with the relay? It would be a shame if you missed out on traveling with GZ as far as the bay area..

Hmmmm I'd have to see if I can make that happen. I will be riding from Seattle to NJ after visiting for a few days. I have a job in Jersey and I start the beginning of June, so waiting a week may be pushing it.

Just to get this info out there, my daughter will be graduating college in May so the weekend of May 18th I would not be available until Sat. night, probably would just meet whoever at Rosamond and ride a stretch on Sunday. Any other weekend I could meet scott in Joshua Tree/29 Palms on Friday night and ride the leg from there to Rosamond.  ;D ;D ;D

I'm guessing that the very earliest GZ could make it to SoCal would be the weekend of 5-12??

That weekend would be great for me, as would the weekend of the 26th in terms of us hooking up in Joshua Tree on a Friday night/ Saturday morning. The one in between not so much, but I could still meet you in Rosamond on that Saturday night.

Hey Coke, not sure yet when the four corners meetup will be, but it will most likely be on a Saturday afternoon. I'm gathering GZ will be in the Austin area the weekend of 5-4? Not sure what is planned between Austin and four corners. Were you going to connect with Justin in Lubbock?

Coke, a FYI. I'll be riding eastward Sun 5/12 and 5/13 through So KS and So MO. If you end up in the vicinity we could ride together.

I had not real plan except to see if it was going to be at a time I could work it out in my schedule.  I have some sick days I need to use up.  (mental health)

That's a big OUCH!

If the date falls on Saturday, I could meet out there.  150 miles from where I am and I'll leave my house before sunrise.  Meet at Joshua tree for mcdonald's breakfast or something.  Then ride to Rosamond for lunch.  Then.......

I dont know my bike average mpg, so Anticipating about every 75 miles stop for gas and quick break.
