My thoughts exactly Scott.
Greenhornet your thoughts?  you are coming from LA-how far you want to go and is Friday in SB or Sunday leaving for Santa Cruz even an option for you?
I don't think goldarrow can ride on Friday, and last we heard from GreenHornet was he couldn't ride on Monday(?). If Doc and gold don't have their hearts absolutely set on going to APE, maybe Pat could meet up with them and Green in Santa Clarita, and then they could head for the meetup with you?
Just a thought: after Doc, gold, and Pat have each had a chance to carry GZ partway to the meetup with Mooshie, the three of you could turn around and ride back to APE?

Who is going to ride from NorCal to NV on 6-8? Team 4 needs to know if there will be anyone there to meet them.

It all depends on the time they plan to get to the Central Coast.  It is a long way on the 1 to Santa Cruz only because of traffic.  Getting to SB at noon is not a good plan.  But if that is the best we get then I am still in.  Just wanting to get an idea of what they are planning

Lisa, how long do you figure it would take to get from Santa Clarita to you?

Per Mapquest, it's just under 2 hours from the jct. of the 126 and I-5 in Santa Clarita to Santa Barbara via the 126 and Ojai- nice ride, btw. I'd be fine with meeting in Santa Clarita at 8, an hour earlier than planned  if Arrow can make it that early. That would get us to SB around 10:00 AM so that Mooshie could get on the way north sooner. I'd probably ride with her as far as Lompoc. Mooshie,  Arrow has already said he can't ride Friday, and it's bad for me too so I'm willing to skip APE altogether to try to accomodate everyone. Mooshie, will that work for you?  Perhaps Pat from APE can also meet us in Santa Clarita. Green Hornet also? Let's all bend a little in order to make this work.

That would put Mooshie and GreenHornet in SLO by noon, with 7 or more hours of daylight to ride up hwy 1...

June 1 & 2 also works for me. Depending on how we are on daylight I think the farthest north I'll go this year is Monterey or near there. If I'm taking to GZ to APE then Monterey it will be an 8hr ride (not including gassing up, lunch, etc.). I could ride at night but, I would like to avoid falling into the Pacific Ocean.
Another option is if one of the SoCal riders takes GZ to APE the week before... if they really want to visit the track. I could then pick up GZ that Sunday, feed and bathe GZ for a week, then on june 1st head up PCH. Not sure if this makes any sense?

How about just bringing GZ to meet up with us early morning 6/1 in Santa Clarita? 2 hours from there on >2 lane roads to Santa Barbara, and then lots of daylight left to make your way north.

I'm ok without going to APE, meeting in Santa clarita at 8am is fine too.

My only concern may be gas stations :) my first time riding relay and don't know road ways.

Depending upon the route anywhere from 1.5 to 2+ hours.  Super slab (126>101) is quick, twisty heaven (126>150) could be 2 hours or just under.

I will go with whatever Sal thinks is best.  If noon is what we get then that is fine with me.  But of course these things never stay on pace with the actual time frames that people think.  So noon really = 1pm and so on and so forth.... :-*
Sal do you want the handoff to be in Monterey?  That is fine with me but who is picking up GZ3?  Can they meet in Monterey and not Santa Cruz?  Need to know as I need to make reservations for 6/1/13.

I'm good to meet up in Santa Clarita early if that works best....  I was planning on heading North with Lisa (Mooshie) a bit as I've never been up that part of the coast.

okay, well that all sounds great.  What time do you anticipate leaving Santa Clarita and do you have a route in mind (I can then gauge what time you will land in Carpinteria or thereabouts) and I can meet up with you all or you can just come to my house (I am just off of the 150 and 101).  Also, is riding PCH1 the way people want to go into Monterey/Santa Cruz?  Twisties to the 1(basically 192>154>101>1 or 101>154>1)?  Straight shot (basically the 101>1)

Sounds like you should make reservations for Monterey for 6/1. The return trip on 6/2 should take less time, so a Sunday morning ride to Santa Cruz might still fit into Sal's schedule?

Now we need to hear from the Norcal contingent...

I've been paying attention here, and am planning to be available, but two things are in flux for me right now.

1) Exact dates?  So far it looks like GZ will be headed to the Monterey/Santa Cruz area on Sat 6/1?  Will there be a stay there until the following weekend?  Is there already a planned date/time to meet someone farther east?  Weekdays are out for me at this point, but weekends can be free if I have time to plan ahead.

2) My CB550 has been revealing it's issues one at a time instead of all at once, and so it has been off the road a bit longer than expected, and while I anticipate having everything sorted out in time, it's possible that it may not be.  I am looking forward to participating, I hope it works out.

GZ will be in Monterey at the end of the day, 6-1. The Socal riders will head back south on 6-2. GZ will remain in the bay area until 6-8, at which time he will HOPEFULLY head east to NV. This is the big question right now; who is riding east to Winnemucca on 6-8?

If we meet at 8:00 in Santa Clarita, even accounting for some milling around time we should easily make Carpenteria by 10:00, taking 126 and then 150 through Ojai.

Personally I love the 2 lane 154 that goes past Lake Cachuma. Would mean a short jag on 101 before you could jump over to the PCH. You pick, Mooshie, it's your backyard.
