AFA tools go...
Duct tape could be hard to remove from the wrenches, think I would wrap them in a paper towel or sheet of paper to make their access easier. An old pair of jeans can be made into a nice tool roll with some time on the sewing machine.

I like a 3/8 drive T wrench in the tool pouch as it gives enough leverage for most bolts. With a few bit sockets to fit allen and socket screws it works well.
Don't forget several latex/nitrile gloves and some hand cleaner.

I have figured out that i should be able to get my saddle sore certificate riding to four corners.  I will be riding my Harley Road Glide so I can get more miles per tankful and more comfort and protection from bugs.
Great!! We are planning on meeting at four corners late Saturday afternoon, then spending the night in Cortez, CO.

I hadn't thought of gloves or hand cleaner.. I've got nitrile gloves at the shop, and some hand-wipes like they used to give at KFC to clean your hands after the "finger licking good" chicken. I'll throw some of each into the tool kit; they won't take up much room. Thanks for the tip!

Actually, my comment about duct tape was meant as a joke, but I may just wrap some on an old roll that only has one turn on it, then flatten it out to make it more compact. ;D

Proto and Coke, be aware that we are in different time zones; AZ doesn't observe daylight savings. Right now we are the same as CA time, so 5:00 to us may be 6:00 to you?

Quick check in.  Godzilla 3.0 in custody.  2ceebees and I met Justin in Clayton yesterday.  We are now in Farmington and have pretty much accomplished my goal of riding all of Hwy 64.  Great ride!  Tomorrow we head for home.  Saturday i will head straight to Four Corners.  Details/photos to follow on riders log when I get home.

Once you get to Morrow Bay and start riding along the coast, it should be a bit cooler. Depending on "June Gloom", it might start getting a bit cool further south. ;)

Is the plan to stay in a hotel/motel or in a campground?  is there a place already picked out that I need to get reservations for or are we just going to 'play it by ear'

Woo hoo!!! Are you going to post a ride report before the next leg?
On a side note, has anyone tried the neck-cooler bandanas? You soak them in water, then wrap them around your neck. They act like a swamp cooler. I picked one up at Big Five today for $7. It's looking like it may cool off a bit on Saturday, so it might not be needed.

scottly, my dad uses them all the time and loves them.  i've used them on hot days at Sandia Raceway in NM and they definitely help.

It's looking like it may cool off a bit on Saturday.

Ha... if you call low 90s cooling off!  Although, it will be cooler where we're going... Cortez forecast is in the 70s, can't wait!!

90's down there means 80's up here. ;) I've been checking the temp here at 7:00 AM, and it's been in the 50's the last few days. Not sure what gear to wear or pack???

I'm packin' light.
I considered putting the soft saddle bags on, but since the bike is so small I actually have to sit on the straps and that sucks.
Plus with the hills, less drag is good... wait, less drag is always good.
Then I remembered how much better it is to lounge on the tank bag.   8)

Can you put the straps under the seat?  That's what I did & it's way  more comfy, but had to use some bars to keep the bags level.

1+ on lounging on the tank bag! Any extra clothing I take off once I get to warmer temps I will strap onto the luggage rack on the back of my Cafe Tourer. ;D ;D

Going through the sign-up list, we have 7 potential NorCal riders:
#23 fatmatt650, Pacifica
#24 NecroPsyChroNauTron (yer user name is way too long, dude. ;)) San Francisco
#35 74750K4, Santa Cruz
#45 grumpy, Gilroy (he's grumpy because of the smell. ;D)
#48 geminimotors, Oakland
#69 kcbarsos, San Jose
#88 Dave Voss, Napa
Bumping the list of Norcal riders.  ;)
Bumping this again. You guys need to start putting together a plan. I can't tell you where or how far you want to ride, YOU all have to decide what works best for you. Is anyone willing to ride to Fernley, NV, on 6-8, or would you all rather do a group ride on 6-1, like Skyline Drive/Alice's Restaurant?

kc, grumpy, please PM the other riders in your area and see if you can't get some responses. Just a reminder; PM notifications may quit working again as the end of the month gets near, so try to send "wake up" calls before that happens.
Thanks. Now I'll get back to packing for this weekend's ride.... ;D ;D ;D ;D

WTH is going east??!?!?

HEY!!! idea... maybe we could park GZ at TT's for the week, since he can't ride. At least he'd be a part of it. ??
