Hey Matt, that would be great if you were able and willing to take GZ to Nevada, I spoke with Greg earlier this morning, and was planning to box and ship GZ this afternoon so that it would arrive at his place (in Idaho) later on this week, please coordinate with Greg today, and let me know by this afternoon if I should still box and ship, or hold for now.  Thanks!

This is kind of short notice. I may be able to do this tomorrow but I'd like to coordinate w/ DaSchwartz to see if he can journey w/ me. You out there Ken?

DaSchwartz is strong with Kenny. He's coming through as well. We're leaving tomorrow and meeting Dave at work to pick up the lil' dude. We'll leave him at Motorcycle Mania in Fernley. I have not confirmed the drop-off w/ Motorcycle Mania as they are closed on Monday but if it doesn't work out we'll bury him in the desert and pm the coordinates to Ofreen for later pick-up or something like that.

We're leaving tomorrow and meeting Dave at work to pick up the lil' dude.

This is great news, because when I broached the subject of temporary cardboard accommodations with GZ, I could see the glow of fire welling up inside him, but I reassured him that we were still trying to work things out, and encouraged him to have another glass of Zinfandel in the meantime.  One more night in Napa, and then the journey east...

Don't worry Mooshie, we'll get some whiskey in him soon.

Sort of like the geo-cache hunt? ;D
That's for stepping up to the plate, Matt, Ken, and DaSchwartz!!!
Dave, sorry you won't be able to make it. You gave it your best shot. Next year you'll have more time to get ready. :)

Rad Matt! wow. what a solider. And Dave, sorry about your bike dude  :-X. Hey, so when i finally cleaned out my backpack from the trip i found a whole bunch of 2013 GZ Tour stickers in a plastic bag. I had never noticed them during pick up or send off. (maybe GZ tucked them away to pay me back for not loosing him or crashing him into a bouncing triumph?)  ;) ;D I'd love yo keep these sticklers going with the tour as was intended. If someone could PM me an address to send them, i will get them shipped. Also if Dave, Matt, Pete or Greg want some, please let me know and ill send them to you. Happy Adventuring GZ

Heck yeah! I'd love to see a photo of Godzilla on the playa, or even better with the mechanics and one of the fleet trucks!
The town of Gerlach is 1.5 hors north of Fernley, playa access is 8 more miles and the ranch/workshop is 20 miles from Gerlach. If anyone wants to make the trek, PM me for details.
Matt, any chance of dropping off GZ with Mike in Gerlach?

Taking GZ3 to Nevada and burying him in the desert, sounds like a mob hit...
Or movie/story about one...

Thanks Scottly, I knew back in April when you first suggested that I think about prticipating the Rally, that the chances of discovering and sorting out all of the potential issues that this motorcycle might have after sitting for a while (and receiving little, if any, maintenance before hand) would be difficult to accomplish, and I almost made it, but I'm glad to have had that motivation to try, and I'm certainly a lot closer to having this motorcycle well sorted than it would be otherwise.  If there's a GZ4 Rally next year, I'll be ready.

Hey Kyle, I'd love to get one of those stickers, after all I *did* give GZ a ride on a Honda sohc4 (for one mile!).  But, rather than mail it to me, please hang on to one for me, and once I get my oil leaks fixed, let's pick a day to meet, and maybe ride somewhere together.

If you send them to Greg in the next day or two via priority mail he should get them in time. Keep one for each of the Norcal guys that missed out. Like Dave said, that would give you all a good reason to ride together. ;)

The first year, I was wrenching up to 30 minutes before I left. Last year, I was wrenching up to the day before I left. This year, the wrenches were all packed the day before, and I was ready to go! The more you do it, the easier it gets. ;D
