I don't know much about the 750s but that seems like a very fair price for a beautiful bike.

It appears to be a very nice bike but think it is overpriced by at least $700.
Prolly why it hasn't sold yet, listing was posted nearly three weeks ago.
There are not a lot of CB's for sale around here, and when fairly priced, sell rather quickly.
A couple years back, I sold a '76 550F for $1900 in less than 24 hours. Should have asked more.

I have never been a brand snob. I have always ridden with friends regardless of what they rode. The same can be said for the folks I rode with for years and the new guys I decide to run with.
When I was a kid, if you were my friend and you were on two wheels, we rode together. Period.
So, if you decide to put Star Wars lunch boxes and the sides of your KTM as luggage, but you are my friend, guess what ?...we ridin'...

You guys are spoilt for choice.   :o
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

A few people on here got on me about hacking up such a "nice bike". I thought, what am I missing? How is this a nice bike that should be restored? I still don't feel bad because I've seen (on here) what a nice original looks like.

I bought a $400 bike that didn't run, had a smashed tank, lower triple bent, rusty spokes, pitted wheels, cracked tires, bent gauges, crooked headlight (bent ears), half a seat pan, missing baffle, etc.. That's exactly what I was looking for!

As humans we always have and always will mistake our opinion for fact. IMO, that rear fender is what kept me from owning another 70s bike for the last 15yrs. IMO, UGLY. So, I leave you with this question: Would you have RESTORED this 1974 CB550K?

Yes, I would have restored it, not necessarily to OEM though. Nice job on yours.

I like the '70's rear fender but my 550 cafe doesn't have a front fender.
I don't like cut stock fenders. No offense intended, just goes to show we all have our own opinion. And it would be boring if all our bikes were the same.

Money meant to be spent, whisky drank and bikes are meant to be ridden, no matter what form. The guys that " get on you" about what your doing to your own bike typically have 12 or so classic Hondas, all of which won't see the road, one of which is a hack restored. IMHO......

l would not have restored it to stock(would have taken too much money for my liking).  I do like what you've done, agree with Steve in that it may look better without a front fender.  Nice job...Larry

I generally like your bike quite a bit, you've done a great job with it...

However, and not to sound like a dick, but where did you get that seat from?  I just can't get over my initial impression of it looking like a caterpillar pooping out a light bulb...

;D Hehe! I built the seat pan. It still has the original cover and foam off the old seat. I keep getting pushed back at the upholstery shop due to boat tops.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Don't get me wrong, I love it! I like the way it's coming along. I love riding it, and building it. It's a hit every where I park it around town. The cafe scene is nonexistant in my 30mile radius, so people think I'm something! But on this forum, I'm a drop in a bucket. Some of you are rude pricks, but most are guys who've been around the block, know your s#i*, and help people on a daily basis. It's those people who's opinion does carry some weight on my mind. I don't want to "hack up" something you guys love!  ;)

My older sister's high school reunion was last weekend. She called me the next morning and told me guys kept asking what kind of bike her brother's been riding around town.  8)

I think one thing that really gets under everyone's skin here is seeing these "cafe" bikes that are about halfway there and don't run for #$%*.  Poorly jetted, exhaust leaks, tapping valves, etc.

I'll bet that the majority of members here don't have a problem with a bike that's a "cafe in progress" as long as it runs properly and isn't just built to park out front of the bar.

That said, new2bikes-again, I think you're in the group that I mention as being "in progress but in proper running order"  You've got a running bike, some type of fork brace in the front fender there, and something that is servicable on a daily basis and it makes you proud.  That's all there is to it really, as long as it works and it looks like you're giving it effort.  It's the fiberglass seat, cut off pipes, poorly jetted pods people that most are talking about when they diss "cafe" bikes.
