Greetings from Brazil
« on: February 21, 2013, 07:27:57 AM »
Hi all, I have been watching you guys for about two to three years and maybe is about time to introduce myself.
I'm Carlos Martins, 50yo riding bikes since my 10s. I live in Santos/SP - Brazil and currently about to finish (couple details) my CB500F 72 Cafe Racer.
I don't know if pictures are allowed here, in any case, I will open another topic just to post them.

This is my Honda CB500F 72. I bought it three years ago in very bad shape. After that, I spent the next two years disassembling, cleaning, rebuilding, painting, making and buying parts from all over the world.
It started as an one seat Cafe Racer but after all the sweat and work, and just couple weeks before everything were ready for sand blasting/painting, my GF decided it was time to complain that was left out from all the fun. And boy... she knows how to complaint.
Well !!! Back to the thinking room and drawing table.  :o

Couple weeks later... another gas tank and seat, some soldering, few meters of leather, glue and Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde was/were born. One bike with two different souls.
The first one, that made Camila very happy, I named after Dr Jekyll. It has a CB500T gas tank, brat style with seat for two persons. I consider it the "calmer" version.
The other "personality", called Mr Hyde, it is a one person Cafe Racer with a smaller Benelli tank and lower seat... that makes me happy. Both are painted green because of the papers.
To jump from one "soul" to another all it takes is to loose five wingnuts and the fuel line (it has a quick release non spilling fuel line).
Well... here it is. I hope you like it.
