Bike stall downshifting?
« on: February 17, 2013, 11:16:21 PM »
Was going about 60 and let off gas, pulled clutch, and shifted down I think twice but before the clutch could engine, it stalled.... Cold night and during first 5 minutes of riding kinda fast.... Any ideas why this may have occurred? Was at 70 miles mark main fuel line... Cb550k

Is the idle set to low? Does it do it often ? Sometimes stuff just happens.

I'd guess it just wasn't fully warmed up if that only happens when it's cold out, and the bike's warming up.  IIRC, the idle should be set when the bike is warm, and it just becomes your job to give it enough gas (even when down shifting) to keep it going in cold weather.

Could be you have the idle set low it bogged down and died out it isn't the end of the world or anything. If it started up and ran normal forget about it

Doesn't happen often.... It's only happened twice.... It's like pulling the clutch kills rpm which leads to engine shutting off...
