Topic: cb750 K1 chain guard alternative

Hey guys, you have been most helpful to me here, I have a question regarding a cb 750K1 chain guard. mine came with a terrible rigged mini chrome chain guard. I'm going back to stock. I know I need to get the plastic one. the only vendor I am finding is yamiya....and thats $200. I would rather NOT shell out that much for a freaking piece of plastic but will if there are no other options. are there any "close to stock" alternatives whether its a metal aftermarket one that fits the K1? anybody randomly have one in decent shape that wants to save me some money? thoughts, ideas? thanks in advance

Or get yourself a metal one from a K2 onwards, along with a K2 swingarm if you don't want to modify the fitting lugs.

It may be cheaper to get another swingarm and chain guard but I just got through rebuilding mine and it was a royal pain, I don't want it to befor

The later guards won' fit.  You can probably find a used one for cheaper than the new Yamiya one but it will have faded and may have some small cracks.  I sold one on ebay about a year ago and it was a real nice one.  It went for just under $100.  In case you're interested in the stock look the 69 guard will fit but it is shorter than the 70/71 guard.  The 72 and beyond have the mounts spaced too far apart.

The earlier guard was atop a 45 t sprocket. The longer ones keep the spray from a 48T rear sprocket. Short one on a 48T sprckt may not work well.

Chef, I have an old aftermarket chain guard that correctly fits the K2 to K6 750 swingarm that I’m never going to use. The chrome is shot, otherwise it’s a solid part. Perhaps you can modify and make use of it? PM if interested.
