Awesome, guys - thanks for the tremendous response!

I am getting quotes for shirts and patches as we speak.  Just for grins, I also requested a quote for rally pins.  I am using a quantity of 50 as my starting basis.  Once I get real numbers to work with, I will start the sign-up list.  Of course, everyone who has already piped up with their order, here, will be included.

A pin?  I love pins!  Okay so I am in for one patch, one women's cut shirt (if you can swing that--otherwise no shirt) and a pin... :-*

Alrighty, guys (and gals).  I got some pricing back, along with proofs for the patches and pins.  I had everything quoted for an approximate quantity of (50) pieces.  If we are near that number, the cost shouldn't change much (if at all).  If we are drastically below or above that count, the cost may be influenced.

Shirts:

Shirts will run $16, shipped to your door.  This includes set-up of the screen and printing of the one-color graphic (white ink on black shirt).  I will need to have a pre-pay scenario in place to help reduce my own out-of-pocket outlay.  Do you guys want the full graphic or just a larger one of the blockhead godzilla and maybe the verbiage for the rally?

My screenprinter can do you choice of men's or women's fit and sizes.  I will just need a list of each to provide.  He recommends either a "normal" fit teeshirt (Gildan brand) or the more modern fit of an American Apparel shirt.  Knowing this group, the Gildan is probably the right direction.

Patches + pins:

Patches will run $5 shipped to your door.  This includes a 3" diameter patch, no backing (sew-on), 75% embroidered, black with white contrast stitching and border.  This size was suggested by the supplier for clarity because of the text size.  See the proof, below.

Pins will run $5, shipped to your door.  This includes a 1-3/8" diameter pin, die-struck, soft enamel with screw back.    This size was suggested by the supplier for clarity because of the text size.  See the proof, below.

Well I would prefer the modern American Apparel shirts (they do fit tighter but are oh so soft) but if it is the Gildan brand for T's (which I am not familiar with) then of course that is fine too.  I would think most will want the full graphic as not everyone will be buying all 3 items (though I will be).
Also, I remember in prior rally's the patches went quickly and they had to re-run the initial order.  I forget who took care of patches last time around but someone will remember and can probably ask him how many he ended up ordering as I would assume near the same amount will most likely be wanted this year.
Thank you so much for doing all this work Architect--I can't wait to wear the GZ blockhead  :-*

Just heard back from Masterchief and he said, "I  ordered 50 and it was not enough i should have ordered 75 or more. once they get out there people want them."

Architect you may want to look at increasing the patch run from 50 to at least 75...just a thought

Thanks for the tip!  The pre-pay list should give us a good idea to start with, then I'll be sure to add on from there.

I know it is not a direct comparison, but back when I was taking care of the merchandise for the forum, over several years I mailed out about 1000 patches and pins each.

Talk to the mods... there may be a way to get several hundred and just keep them in stock as long as they last.  If they are available, people will keep buying them till they're gone.  Sometimes I forked over the initial cost and recouped it over a long period of time, other times I remember Glenn helped if the order got to a pretty high dollar amount.

I would prefer to see 100 or maybe even 200 extra than not have enough and another run never gets made.

Normally, I'd say that's a good approach.  But in this case, I would argue that this is an event-specific set of products (i.e. rally 3.0), rather than general SOHC/4 merchandise.  With that, a finite amount of product ordered makes sense to me.  Now, I don't want to exclude any rally participants (or forum members) who want to order.  But by the time next year's ride rolls around, I don't want to still be holding merchandise from 2013.  Just my opinion, FWIW.

I'll get an "official" sign-up thread started soon.  I will add everyone who has given a definite order, so far, as well as give additional folks an opportunity to add.  I'll make sure to order extras by a certain multiplier, too.

Hence, my comment, not a direct comparison.   ;)
I do think there should be a small surplus even a year later for those that decide they want one well after the fact, or just couldn't afford it at the time.  Also, people take forever to actually finalize their order and pay up, so you may be shipping out patches a year later anyway.  ;)
With that in mind, my main points were someone might be willing to help out with $ and also shipping duties.
But... if stock runs out, all they have to do is steal your design and use zazzle or some other company like that for a 1 piece order.  :D

I want a large T and a patch or two, of course.

Alrighty, folks . . .   I started an "official" order thread:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=121246.0

If you have voiced your preference, you should already be on the list - please double-check my entry to make sure I got it right.  I will use this as my order procurement/fulfillment basis, so I don't want anyone to get short-changed.  If you did not yet specify a size, please do, and I will keep the list up-to-date.

Please PayPal your payment to Chris@blipworkshop.com

All details are found on the "official" thread, too.

Cheers!
