Someone gave those ports some love! ;)  NICE!  If you get a chance, could you do a quick measurement on the total throat height on those K0 carbs.  Maybe even a pic or two since you have them out.  I have to assume that these are bored carbs.  I'm curious what was done to them.  Hopefully you will have something to compare them too soon. (I haven't heard from Pops 911 yet).

Naturally we expect video confirmation of the Tiger running ;D.  Anyone else think it will be on the noisy side?

Bill,

Did you receive any paperwork documenting the racing history other than it's PA ownership and northeast racing?  Any record of times the bike ran?

Bill,

So do you have any plans yet as to where you intent to run the Tiger?  Besides locally that is?  Are there some vintage events you would like to go to?

What events are out there appropriate for vintage lay down dragsters?

Do we know where Russ Jr. plans to run the triple when up and running?

Any other RC motored or vintage RC dragsters or other cb750 based dragsters out there about there able to join in?

Bill,

When you get a chance, would you mind measuring your fork tubes.  I'm guessing that they are the cb175/cb200 31mm tubes, rather than the also common cb100/cb125 27mm tubes.  Also have you weighted the complete bike yet?  I'd be very curious to know.  I imagine that you have far more important things to do, like see what's doing on under that cam cover ;), but when you get a chance...

George measured those a while ago, thoughht 33mm, they were 32 Ceriani I think Stock 35mm.Pulled cover late last night. .......RC 315  cam, cool, look down cam chain tunnel , something about the size of a plug screw on tip laying between big roller and chain and cylinder, looks rusty or Ga clayed color, hopefully magnetic, plug  tip aluminum, we'll know later.Gotta get ready for Saturday's race.A couple of pics later. George, your pipe and the 84 catalog shipped today! Bill

Interesting,

The specs for the single engine drag frame from the +/-1976 RC Engineering catalog calls for a cb100/125 front end(27mm forks!).  I've seen some pics on the old ones with forks so thin, but I usually see "beefier" cb175/200 front ends with 31mm tubes or something similar.  If I have my info correct, both(cb100/125 and cb175/200) have the same mechanically operated disc front brake system(unless they have the drum version anyway), and I believe both use the same head bearing sizes.  Those Ceriani trees on the Tiger are much better looking than the factory CB parts regardless ;).

You didn't mention, did you weigh the bike?

Funny, you just sold me your RC 315 cam, and what do you get on the Tiger, another RC 315 cam :D.  Are you planning on pulling the head to verify the piston type and compression?  I'd be very interested to see close up pics of the head to compare your RC prepped head to mine.

Any guesses on what you think it will run with the engine that is currently in it?  mid-high? compression 836 with RC prepped head and a 315 cam.  Somewhere in the ....neighborhood of 80-85hp @ 10,000rpm?  Bike weight of +/- 340 lbs minus fluids?  Hmmm...

High 10s perhaps?

George

Bill,
Don't forget, there's a nice scale at the end of the track near the ticket booth. No need to guess, we can roll it down there to check it out. I'll have my tow bike with me.

George, it don't matter what forks you use as long as ther are up to the job and nice and light.

BILL: Those were Super clean carbs I sent you right, for GEORGE  ??????  You asked about flat slides and I told you before I have LIKE NEW many sets but these were used on 1105cc 73mm DOHC KZ and 1261cc 78mm GS1000 and I would think way to big for any bored out 750 block = right. Those 33mm smoothbores w/31mm inserts worked just fine on a 1075cc 72mm KZ 1000 on the dyno. Great thing about smooth bores are the ease of changing jets for the right set up = about 15 minutes.

Pops 911,

Oh those carbs are for me alright ;).  I just don't won't have the RC 1000 motor up and running this season.  So Bill gets to play around with them for a while, and I get some nice feedback on how they run before I need them.  A win/win...

We'll talk carbs later, but yes they were clean.Been working on the Chapman Tiger!

RC315 cam

Pretty clean inside, except for one pc of Ga.clay,BB size,no hose on breather cover,no two screws underneath it! They did point out the two missing in rear of breather cover.Retorqued everything, good thing.cam chain tight, but not H/D also later cam sprocket ,but not slotted. Will be an APE one soon.Valve lash should be .012".Most were @ .014,.013 real loose, but .014 wouldn't quite go in.#2 intake was @ .010.All at .012 now. ;D Foreign pc ,used magnet with grease, soon as contact made it fell to bottom,I hope (gotta pull sump).
May have been plug of dirt,we'll see. aftermarket tappet caps, threads a little longer, rockers were hitting some!
Back together now,but needs wires and caps.

Put on Calendar Girl's old caps...Black,Jerry!!! ;) ;D

Getting there

That's the NitroHunter seat in front,one to sit on,one behind you! well,maybe!!! ::) ;D
Coming to a track near...here...one day!! ;) ;D

More ,after sump pulled.Bill

Lookin good Pinkie  ;)  If we could just figure out how to remove one cylinder stud at a time with the top still intact and replace with APE  8) Those 6.5mm stems will have to be 5mm eventually! Then a 1080. Webers would look REAL nice too. Oh hell Bill let's just leave it alone  ;D Next year  ;)

Good luck with the blob! I don't like foreign objects in the oil pan! Especially half spheres. Delivery at APE Monday.
