I found it pretty amazing that some guys would race these lay down dragsters with zero padding at their backside. The padded and covered seat on the twin engine "BuzzSaw" looks positively comfortable by comparison!

You are not really sitting long enough to let it bother you. Mine has 1/2 foam in fabric. The secret is the 6x6 pocket under the padding for comfort.

Sitting wasn't the problem

In all fairness the one I rode wasn't set up for a short legged rider like myself. Having proper footpeg location - And that 6x6 pocket - would have helped with the, er, launch issues.
