Topic: ARD Magneto on a CB550

I know that I have seen them run, and I heard that ARD even made some to fit the 550.  Just can't seem to find concrete information on them.

I ask because I want to run one on my chop.
I have a drive plate that is drilled for a 500 and mounts up perfectly.
But when I try to use the rest of the ARD set up(from a 750) it doesn't clear the carbs.

Anyone have some pictures of ARDs on a 500/550 or info on mounting?

I recently got an ard for my 750 and there does not seem to be a ton of info or people using them but they are 30 years old.my general thought is that the case could be shorter for the 550 because the 750 case just clears the carbs.not a lot of help but maybe someone will chime in.bill

It's almost like the 500/550 would need to be spaced out to clear.

Greggo, that was a kind of home built custom right? 

Ill have to mess with it a bit tomorrow and see what angle would fit...if any.

Can the mag be "re-clocked" by rotating it to fit beneath the carbs? That would be a counter-clockwise rotation in Greggo's example pic.
