You could just extend the forks, like we did in the 60s with our stingray bikes

Yes, and not recommended. It will greatly weaken it.

Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

okay guys need some more help. got the engine apart and found out that  there were no gaskets on it. so need to order gaskets  but not sure what year the engine is  the number on the case in CB 750E-2007844  does anybody know where I can find out what year engine this is? also I am going to try to attach pictures of the pistons and can you tell me if I need to change them or just the Rings. thanks again for the help.

From HondaChoppers: the engine numbers relate to the "K" model changes. Years are a US concoction and only appear on titles. Up till K5 or so, then Honda coonvertd to model years.

The K numbers and years are only coincidentally close on the CB750. Virtually al other Hondas have K numbers that are nowhere close to a calendar year.

You'll have to measure the cylinders to check if it's within spec to replace only rings.
If not, you'd have to bore and go to larger pistons/rings.
If you don't have the proper tool, maybe a local machine shop would do it for you?
