YEOWZAA Mike, I can see what you were talking about. Very Cool.

Juha, the nice thing is if a mouse ever gets in a chamber, you can send your cat in there after it!  ;D

Gee, is that all you've squeezed out of that motor?  ;D

"1980 Suzuki GS1100E
Power in 1980 was 86.67hp@8000rpm, with torque of 59.73@6500rpm. Wet weight was 563.5lbs. ”
"1983 Suzuki GS1100E
Power in 1982 was 108bhp@8500rpm, with torque of 67.6@6500. Wet weight was 549lb's. ”

That's some pretty awesome numbers and one you might be gripping pretty tightly...
So, it stretches the arms and compresses the spine...
This is my sons junior dragbike engine, only 29mm carbs and a pretty mild setup ;)

Brent, sounds like a plan  ;D ;D

Mike's reputation in Finland is growing fast, questions about the mystery "JMR-Motorcycle cylinder head porting" are frequently asked.

What would epoxy be used for?  An oops?

How do you put in/do oversized seats?
No epoxy on the port floors. The old seats are cut out on the Serdi. A larger OD cut is made and the new seats driven in. Doing 16 of them takes a little while with set ups etc. There was a problem with the exhaust guides as somebody had replaced them at some point and used OEM parts. The replacement guides are +.010. The GSXR conversion guides are stock OD and don't come oversize. Why I don't know. ::) Anyway...had to get +.085 early GSXR exhaust guides and bore the guide holes to accept them. that took a good amount of time.
Bottom line is nothing seems to go smoothly sometimes. :D

I'm sure with all the work Mike has done and the parts Sam Green bought for the new engine... the scare factor of the bike will return and I'll find myself running high 8's in the not-so-distance-future  ;)

You should see some of the pro mod heads I have welded on after they went BOOM
there is more epoxy around the intakes than aluminum
here is a couple of heads that I have done for one of the pro mod teams
The first is just a valve seat repair and the second is when the valve decides to meet the piston
and things go bad really fast after that
lots of epoxy on both these heads

That is some huge welds. Amazing they salvage them this way...but I guess you don't just pick up another head everytime one grenades or needs valve seats. Would guess drag race teams have several heads for a race bike and rework them as needed with several viable spares on hand if they have the budget. About the minimum for road race teams would be a spare motor if they can afford it. Having high performance motor work done is not inexpensive, doing it for a race team with multiple motors just compounds it.
But, without those racers several shops would not have a business.

That's some nice work Jim (but than I'd expect nothing less) ;) I was looking at a Pro Stock head the other day. Splayed guides, large, welded spigots, tons of epoxy etc etc. Guys have so much time and money into a good head they will anything to save them. ;D

and that's the point of trying to save a really good head that makes good power
too much time just to start again..........I have also done heads where the combustion chambers
have been skulled with bronze inserts. (The hole combustion chamber is a bronze insert)
Heres one that I welded a while back and its being machined by cooper performance

Imagine what you could do if you could print a head with a 3d printer with very fine layers.

Bronze combustion chambers, wild.

What is the reason for "skulling" the chamber Jim? I'm guessing heat retention?
I seem to recall that HD XR750s had brass (maybe it was bronze?) valve seats. The valves would slowly hammer down into the seats, requiring frequent lash adjustments.

Quite a few vintage bikes used bronze combustion chamber 'skull cap' (iron heads?), even complete heads.  Remember seeing a couple at the Vintage Festival, they also had exposed valve springs, and ran on meth.  Can't remember what make they were.

Call them heads, thiiiiiiiiiiis is a head man............. JMR's previous LSR head honda cb 750

In the world of CB 750 heads I am not easily impressed........this impresses me greatly, not the fact its a big hole but why its turned out a big hole, he just does what ever it takes , grabs the air low , directs up super high, twists it to one side then directs it down straight at the back of the valve and away from the edge of the bore wall.......and then there is that signiture floor, Mikes the only person who does and his flow bench tells no lies and takes no prisoners.

Jim whats with the Avatar ? Kinda liked the blue baby, dont tell us its fallen victim to another women ? ;D ;D ;D

I'm going do put pan head sheet metal screws in the port floor to hold epoxy. I am going for a very wide, raised port floor. I want volume and good charge speed. A straight shot intake port would be nice and I could have the necessary work done but it gets complicated, expensive and very time consuming
