I've said it before, this is beer money to a lot of people. Unfortunately, not me....This buy now equates to about three weeks nett wages for a reasonably well paid wage slave in my country.

The truth is if this would be the gauge that you are after, you are a collector that takes your bike to shows and the bike is a show piece and ceases to be a bike. I have seen guys at shows pull the speedo cable before even pushing the bike around. I suppose this sounds silly, but a bunch 100ft pushes does add up I suppose.

Nothing wrong with a show piece bike.. You just have to decide at what cost.

with a BIN of 41400.00????

Can't comment on the anality of it, but
I would seriously wonder about the sanity
of anyone paying that.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.

.....and, if you paid that much for the NOS speedo, think what you will pay for
the matching tach,  key switch,  etc.   :o  Those things have to be really rare
now though....NOS especially.

the piipes, airbox, and side panels.

Like I said, you have to decide at what cost. When you are seeking perfection sometimes there is no price too much (within reason) when you need that final piece that makes the bike the cats meow.

After all some guys pay $15K for custom rims on thier bikes. No one here, but some do.

Don't add up the cost.I DID ON MINE :o

Buy cost= 200.00

Parts cost so far=2600.00
Additional parts cost since last talley   I guess around another 1600.00 or so. includes labor by mechanic.Things i couldnt do.

I stopped adding about 2 months ago.My mechanic/tuner told me not to total it up,but i did.I  still don't have stock pipes or new paint yet.It has been fun tearing it down and slowly putting it back together.Heck you only live once EH?    JUST NEVER TELL THE WIFE WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN SPENDING ON THE BIKES!!!!!!!

Let's pool our money together, buy it, and smash it to smithereens with a ballpeen hammer.  I'm good for $10 - can we find another 140 people?

I've seen that stuff too... You get within 50ft of the bike and they practically tackle you because the air you exhale might damage the paint. They're constantly wielding a cloth baby diaper keeping the chrome spotless.. I love to watch them have a coronary at a bike show when it threatens rain ;D

I just shake my head. I guess if I paid that much for the bits I'd be that way, if anything at least understand that behavior...
