Jerry as of now I think I can pull this off. long as I can keep up with my job and staying ahead of the game I'm in. As far as my healing went from my wreck I have a permanent limp and short term memory loss. Which could be a good thing because if I do something stupid I don't remember it. My son is going to talk to his friend who is a member on here and see if he would want to go my son said he would ride along if that's okay. I contacted one of the guys in Lawrence he sounded interested. So hopefully it will turn out
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"

Lawrence and Topeka. Missouri. We have the other KS guys that want to ride too. Let's get them on board with you guys and formulate a plan. If you guys can chase down one another to see what works for you. Looking like Nebraska will have to be on the last leg since we're not hearing from any of those guys. Plus I do not see a feasible way to head north into Iowa and the northern reaches on this leg.

As usual, no firm dates to reach you guys but once we do then whatever you guys want to do seems to be the way it's going this year. I'm not strong arming like I did in 2011  ;D ::) :o to make it happen in all lower 48, DC and 7 Canadian provinces.

Everyone is welcome. This is about riding and meeting people but GZ is restricted to a SOHC4 or UPS/USPS this year.

GZ the Third is in Idaho.  I'm going to hit the hay.  Nice looking bikes, Josh. See you tomorrow.
Sweet! I hope GZ had fun at the shop for a couple days!

I think he did. Deanna was sorry to see him go.  Thanks again for taking care of business.

It was great meeting you and Steve today! You guys put some major mileage under your belts this weekend.
I hope your ride home was good. Ours was HOT.

Happy Father's Day everyone!

It was great meeting you guys, too.  It was a fine ride home, and yep, got a little warm toward the end of it. Have fun with GZ. Looking forward to hearing about your travels.

Depending on the date, it sounds like madScientist (Chase) might ride with me to the KC area. Might see if I can grab another buddy or two to join us. One that's a member on of this forum, I believe. Looking forward to it!

Not sure yet. Maybe mid-July? That seems to be the golden question. My ability to take a ride will be contingent on it.

7/??   Longrange Proto and GJ Steve?? maybe head towards Denver very possibly to OldBob in Nederland. K5 Keith is in!

7/??   Front Range/Denver crew takes over and moves GZ into KS. As always CB650 and Paul are on the move. Who else?? Theofam is in.  K5 Keith too. KS crew heads eastward to Team 5- who's this gonna be and how are you going to do it????

7/?? + a couple - NShahdadi of Team 5 proudly accepts GZ from ???? of Team 4 perhaps near KC who then relays to MadScientist for an assault on St Louie.

Ok...been firming up what's going on...and I'm confused.

I'm in NE...so Team 5?  Team 4?  I see NE listed in possibly 2 different teams.
Hardly anyone here to help.  Which isn't that big of an issue.
Dont' mind riding solo trips.  Done it cross country many a time!
Might be able to recruit 1 or 2 riders from IA and team up that way, but I'm not seeing any response from IA crew.

The way it sits now, I'd be meeting up with KS crew?
And taking GZIII where?

Another option is to skip NE. (as its looking like pretty slim response).
I could meet up with KS crew?  Do a ride-along?
Unless the the next hand-off point is through NE, (I'm in Omaha), why come up this way?
Just throwing out ideas.
Come on!  We're burning daylight!

Has anyone updated the Riders Map recently.
Just took a look @ team 4 and team 5.  Doesn't seem complete or accurate.
(For example:  I see 'Pinhead' listed in 2 different locations for KS)

Getting this updated would help a lot with logistics.

'

'Doug, that's great news. Looks like eastern KS and western KS are covered. Missouri of Team 5 too. Perhaps have Proto ride towards OldBob in Nederland. Perhaps cut the northeast corner of CO past CB650 into NE on US6 then back down towards your area. Grasscutter is from eastern NE and wants in. He's a real rider too. We'll figure it out. We still have a couple more KS riders to get involved too. I'll do more research this afternoon. Sounds like what we need to do is connect a few more dots then work out the schedule.

Grasscutter,

It sounds like you're a real rider like Pinhead. We can cut the SW corner of NE with Pinhead, CB650, 78 K550, etc. However you're on the other end of NE. It looks like we have the MO connection from KC to St Louis. Would you be able to connect in western NE or northern KS somewhere? Ideas? Maybe even relay north of KC if doable by NShahdadi?

Pinhead,

How far east would you be able to ride?

Pinhead,

How far east would you be able to ride?

It depends on the timing, I guess. I'm around Russell and the trip to Nederland is ~450 miles, or about 8 hours nonstop which is a little rough. If I'm lucky I'll get Fri-Mon off so I can spread the trip out a bit... But until we have a solid timeline it's hard to plan days off at work.

Take that back... I guess last year I drove 1050 miles in 2 days so as long as it's not 110* out it shouldn't be too bad.  8)

I could probably pretty easily go as far east as Salina, maybe a bit further.

Rider Listing From What I Was Able To Glean From Posts
« Reply #163 on: June 17, 2013, 01:45:42 PM »
I will list this beginning in Colorado and move from west to east. This should help us connect the dots more easily.

Please let me know who I've left out. Contact any others that may want to participate. Contact those that you will cross paths with. Let's get an idea of routing possibilities and then nail down timing. How's this sound?

Colorado:
Proto (Craig) and GJ Steve (Grand Junction)
OldBob (Nederland)
K5 Keith, JerryRxmanGriffin (Colorado Springs)
Theofam, 78 k550, Freaky1, ApexSeeking (Denver)
CB650 (Hudson ne of Denver on I-76)

Kansas:
Pinhead (Russell)
SixGunRattlesnake (Brookville)
JamesB (Topeka)
Eydugstr (KC)

Nebraska:
DeafandDiabetic (Lincoln)
Grasscutter (Omaha)

Missouri:
NShahdadi (Columbia)
MadScientist (St Louis)

Iowa: (however I do not see how we can incorporate Iowa into Team 4 routing practically. This will probably have to be on the return ride)

Guys I'm going to have to bow out.  My workplace is going to be slamming with double-shifts after the fourth of July weekend.  If possible I'll try to catch GZ on his return leg later on this year.

If you wanted to do Colorado you could ride into Colorado Springs, spend the night here, then head out for GZ with K5 Keith to meet up with the Denver guys. Thinking northeast from the Denver area into Nebraska and dip back into central Kansas and on to Missouri.

How does this routing idea sound to everyone?
