Yes, they appear to be the next best thing in tensioners. Kenny, the man. He cut away an engine to study all the current configurations, I think you'll like it......Mr Honda not that far off! More info as they become available.Also offers much better chain contact, not too many unsupported links! Way cool! We were just talking about them yesterday.Bill

Correct Mick. As Bill said....it wasn't until he cut the engine away that he saw what was really going on. It was like a moment of clarity for him. He has been talking to chain engineers...obviously. Other stuff coming down the pike.

Thanks Mike, Ken deserves congrats for doing this works for us mad SOHC heads....  Next time you talk to ken let him know how much we all appreciate the effort he puts in for us all...

[/b] Boy...... Mick I speak with him just about every other day. I wish you could meet him as he is a great guy. I had a lot of fun with him (and Todd) at Valdosta last November. You were the only thing missing brother.

Also....he is correct about the milled pieces. My current engine has -.045 off the head and -.020 off the deck. I could see that the chain gets close to the pivot pin. OK...now I have another engine in the future using all these new parts. $hit....it never stops (thank God).

I was also looking at his new rear wheel set up Mike, unfortunately for me it looks like he is only selling them with 17 inch rims, do you think Ken would sell just the hub with disc , carrier, caliper and sprocket...?

It's a smart alternative alright. Did they try this piece in his race engine? I wonder what the material looks like after some abuse.

all is good guys, but coming from 500's and other motors, never having worked on a 750, I cant understand why nobody makes a proper slider tensioner like in any modern motor = no wheels revolving at crazy rpm's. i am pretty confident there must be something that can be cannibalized form other motors. my 500/4 uses one from a CBR600 for instance

KOS at M3Racing has the slider type for his racers and those of us with play racers motors. According to CycleX promo readings, there is some shortcoming, having to do with milling the decks, that makes their roller type superior. I am not qualified to judge. The KOS supplied slider type is a way cool part, anyway.

Timing couldn't have been better on this for me. I'm about to start putting my motor back up. I just bought a manual adjuster so this new CycleX tensioner would be perfect.

I'm usually a follower to the party.........but I got my 'new design' tensioner and HD-chain in November when I stopped at Ken's shop.  I plan to install it this summer.  Ken has also designed a novel way to flush the plumbing in the john..........its worth a visit

I read about this tensioner in another thread http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=106568.0 and could not resist to order, just a few clicks and price + shipping relatively low.
Have them home waiting to be installed together with new chain, sprocket, cam, heavy duty primary chains from Germany and all other new stuff draining my wallet :-)
