Had a date with a stripper today
I used the gel (can't remember the brand) paint remover. Next it's off to the paint-less dent removal man to work his magic. I was relieved to find no damage to the emblem mounts!
Then I had some fun stripping the bike down. Removed the air box, carburetors, battery box/electric panel, tool tray, wiring harness, horn, gauge clamps, coils, ignition switch, passenger pegs, drive chain, and some other bits I can't remember. All the bolts and screws will be dipped in the Evapo-Rust left over from the tank treatment, and I'll decide if they need plating after that.
It's been a good week, and I might come back to the shop Friday to break it down to the frame.
